China's military spending will be $209 billion in 2021，Increase by 6.8%.
1.3% of GDP，5% of Government fiscal expenditure.
30 Per cent for personnel costs, 30% for maintenance and training costs and 40% （$83.6 BILLION）for acquisition of equipment.

70% of India's military spending goes to personnel costs.

actually as % of GDP its one of the lowest of the top powers

can easily spend over 2% and that would be like $300 billion

For the Chinese military now, this is enough, because although the proportion is relatively low, China's GDP growth is too fast.
There is an old Chinese saying that斗法术不如斗道行，Doubling the ratio is not as good as doubling GDP.

India is a cake walk for China. Indian defense Budget is too small, Indian Military if too weak and Indian technological base is non-existent.

QUAD won't do anything. They'll help maybe through material aid, but other than that, they aren't stupid enough to turn it into a world war. If India fights, India is on its own.

Its better off for India to import their capital warships until they develop a commercial ship building industry or munitions industry. When India need to import most components, the per unit cost will be much more expensive. The problem is that it will continue perpetually unless they develop an industrial base, which will be more difficult as their budget is tie up in their imported “domestic “ made weapons. This become a cycles that prevent them from growing. This is the attitude of flying before crawling. Doing something for the purpose showing off instead of practicality. But this is the Indian mind set.

India defence budget tiny compared to China. They spend large majority or wages and pensions.
Then Indians also can not make anything of their own so they buy overpriced stuff that cost a lot to maintain. Also have less knowledge of equipment because they buy everything. meanwhile China much larger defence budget and better quality goods costing far less since self manufacturing.

second Kolkata,class,destroyer cost 900 billion dollars,each not 1.5 billion each..
