I never said that Bangladesh would become desert. Even if there are no rivers in Bangladesh, rainfall is enough to take care of water needs. Though you may sink under Bay of Bengal as silt brought by Ganga-Brahmaputra system compensates for rising Sea level in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh no need to be on the forefront confronting China, the most proximate northeast region connect to China border, India need to settle the issue with China and not Bangladesh.

There is something called as rights of lower riparian states, the reason why India signed IWT with Pakistan.It is considered illegitimate to divert whole of rivers. You could do it in a way as you could kill a country's diplomat, ie by force but not by right.
