China's big mistake': Pakistanis lobby to free wives trapped in Xinjiang

China pursues the policy of freedom of belief. The mainstream belief in China is atheism. There are also many people who believe in Christianity, Catholicism, Muslim, Taoism, Buddhism, Confucian culture and so on.

The Uygur problem is not a religious one. If it is a religious one why other religions have no problems, the same hui Muslims have no problems.
Some of uygur use terrorism to achieve national separation.china have zero tolorence to terrorism

The west is trying to stir up the relationship between Muslims and China through religious caps. This is a conspiracy.

Mainstream Muslim countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iran,Malay and Indonesia, even turkey, have been cool-headed and rational about this issue.

South Asian Muslims are loyal, but also the least judgmental, hot-headed, which is why Pakistan, as a friend of China, is easily be used as cannon fodder by Western countries and India. India will seize every opportunity to stir up Sino-Pakistani relations. Once Pakistan loses China's support, India will easily destroy Pakistan.

Some Pakistani friends are sober, some are insidious, willing to be Western dogs, of course there are many people are used by the insidious. I hope you can recognize the true face of some of the sinister who lurk around us.

I wish the new Pakistan government can grow up faster and be more mature, the less rational government will bring the most fatal defeat to Pakistan

China's true face is starting to come out I am afraid.

It is not even sparing spouses of Pakistani businessmen - it's only truly significant ally in the whole world.
China should dam up the flow of water and dry up Bangladesh. How would you feel?

.
I hope this 'incident' (we all know how it came to be) will serve as a testament of the iron friendship between China and Pakistan. If China or Pakistan falls for this trap, then it would really be a shame.
No they won't both of them are clever enough.

Banglashis believe that the whole universe should be revolving around them. When you help them and make them happy, they will praise you. but if you did something making them slightly unhappy, they will be viciously attacking you.
One thing will cancel out all the past help you gave them, that's their trait we should learn and remember.

BEIJING (Reuters) - Pakistani businessmen whose wives and children are trapped in China’s restive Xinjiang are traveling to Beijing to lobby their embassy, in hopes that the south Asian nation’s new government will pressure its ally for their release.

Beijing has faced an outcry from activists, some governments and U.N. human rights experts over mass detentions and strict surveillance of the mostly Muslim Uighur minority, and other Muslim groups, in the western region.

Mirza Imran Baig, 40, who trades between his home city of Lahore and Urumqui, the Xinjiang regional capital, said his wife was detained in a “re-education” camp in her native Bachu county for two months in May and June 2017 and had been unable to leave her hometown since her release.

His wife, Mailikemu Maimati, 33, and their four-year-old son, who are both Chinese nationals, are unable to get their passports back from Chinese authorities, he told Reuters outside the Pakistan embassy in Beijing.

“My ambassador says, ‘Wait, wait, wait, one day, two days.’ Okay, I wait,” Baig said late on Tuesday, after his meeting.

Reuters could not immediately reach the ambassador, Masood Khalid, to seek comment.

Beijing says it faces a serious threat from Islamist militants and separatists in Xinjiang and has rejected accusations of mistreatment.

Asked about the Pakistani businessmen on Tuesday, Geng Shuang, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, told a regular news briefing that he was not aware of the situation.

Muslim majority nations have mostly remained silent over the situation in Xinjiang.

Last month’s election of cricketing legend and firebrand nationalist Imran Khan as Pakistan’s prime minister has fed the expectations of many for him to deliver on promises to create jobs, build an Islamic welfare state and restore the country’s image abroad.

Mian Shahid Ilyas, a businessman in Lahore who has been collecting details of cases and seeking government support, said he was optimistic the new government would help.

Pakistan’s foreign ministry in Islamabad did not reply to questions from Reuters on the Uighur spouses.

“A lot of people get married like us. It’s no problem. But in 2017 they start to seal everything off in Xinjiang,” Ilyas, who said his Chinese Uighur wife, a citizen of China, had been detained since April 2017, told Reuters by telephone.

Ilyas said he had confirmed details of 38 cases but believed there were more than 300 similar cases of Pakistani husbands whose wives and children, most of them Uighurs, had been stuck in Xinjiang for more than a year, in camps or confined to homes.

The handful of businessmen, including Baig, is traveling to China in groups of twos and threes, to avoid raising suspicion, parking themselves at the embassy to make their case, he said.

“This is China’s big mistake,” said Ilyas. “Before people did not know how they treated Muslims. Now, everyone knows.”

.
Western media at it again. Suddenly the Western media has found love for Pakistanis and Chinese Muslims LOL

A big middle finger to them.

.
China is doing well in ensuring that every religion or atheism in China is Chinese in orientation, we must do same in Pakistan - every religion and sect should be aligned with state or rooted out to ensure peace.

BTW - Anti-China propaganda is at full swing these days, as big news outlets of Pakistan are associated with Western media groups - so be careful

I do sympathize with the condition of the Uyghurs, nothing like Kashmir but still very uncomfortable to have the government try to take control of their lives.

Anyways, think of it - if Uyghurs had their own country, would they voice support for Kashmir's freedom? Condemn India's occupation and terrorism against Kashmiris?

Did any of the Central Asian Turkic countries support Pakistan's position? Have they EVER said anything about Kashmir?

Does Palestine? Feels like Palestine prefers friendship with India despite India's brotherly relations with Israel.

I believe, likewise, a hypothetical independent Uyghuristan would not choose Pakistan over India.
So I don't think the Uyghur issue is worth ruining our relationship with China.
My $0.2 on the issue.

Just forget it Pakistan is not in a position to deal with any injustice in this world. Just get on with developing your own country and looking after your own.

Okay me make my position clear. Cat's have nine lives. Pakistan has only one. And the question is simple. Who does Pakistan want to use that 'one life' on? My thinking without a quiver of doubt is Kashmir. Yes Kashmir.

For the various issues across the world whic run into dozens you have to place them on a stacking order - graded on how much they 'cost' Pakistani state in terms of economic/military or diplomatic loss offset again self interest. The grading could be [in order of cost] as follows -

  1. All means neccessary. Military, economic and diplomatic - This is applicable to Kashmir dispute
  2. Limited acts of ommission/commission - do not recognize that state, boycott and raise the issue sometimes. This might be best posture for Palestine.
  3. Considered neutrality laced with measured concern - Sometimes when there is no choice go along with the prevailing international sentiment but keept it muffed. This might be applicable to Rohingya or Yemen.
  4. Do absolutely nothing in public but in private work with your 'friend' to help them resolve problems - this is best reserved for Uighur issue.

Given China's strategic importance to Pakistan - I would argue given the present reality of US emerging alliance with India that this alliance is the only way out for Pakistan to face what is a existential threat is to build a full anf total alliance with China. Croaking about Uighurs is like pissing in the Chinese noodles and expecting Chinese will lap it up without any consequences.

Smaller states that isolate themselves end up being sanctioned to hell like Iran [which has survived because of enormous oil wealth], or become target for military assault like Chechen Republic or Taliban Afghanistan - both were destroyed because of dumb policies that led them to be isolated. Can Pakistan afford this? Have people heard about the disasterous state of public finances?

Does Pakistan even have the money to go on these stupid jihads ???????

.
Pakistan and China will not be deterred by minor hiccups in terms of long term strategy. The Uhiygur issue is attracting a lot of attention due to the fact it symbolizes the propaganda anti Chinese sentiments require to upset the balance of relations between China and its trading partners.

What if Uighur is independent? We loss border with China and instead get border with another useless landlocked central asian muslim country.

And expect border dispute along with them being on Indian payroll.

Define TERRORIST? The whole world refers to you as one, what's the difference?
It's a objective measure like "good food". In this context a terrorist is those who compromise national interest of Pakistan or it's foremost ally the athiest People's Repblic of China. Which pretty well now underwrites Pakistan Army/Airforce weapon purchases and as a strategic counter-weight to the US/India hegemonistic designs on the region.

So any party or group that goes against the strategic alliance [uses any form of force] between Chia-Pak is a fcukin terrorist.
