Trucks are not allowed within the 3rd ring road in Beijing during the day time in Beijing.nice concept, but what about large trucks and lorries? will bigger vehicles need to run in separate lanes????
Better demos:
Interesting concept but it will only work in a perfect world. In the real word, you have incidents of road rage, aggressive/bad drivers, jaywalkers, etc. Even with all the sensors, you can't avoid accidents. Hence, the need for subways.
then per your logic, no one should be driving cars since as you say, in the real world there are accidents/road rage/aggressive bad drivers etc.

The "straddling bus" or "tunnel bus", which is designed to ease traffic congestion in cities, has been put into production in Changzhou, in east China's Jiangsu province, according to a report by huanqiu.com.
Earlier models show each passenger section of the bus will be 22 meters long, 7.8 meters wide and 4.8 meters high, with 55 seats. Most importantly, the hollow space under the bus allows other vehicles to pass underneath which greatly improves the use of roads with limited space, easing traffic congestion.
The report said the Transit Explore Bus or TEB will be comprised of four passenger rooms on average, and it can be modified according to road conditions.
You don't fully understand the point of elevated bus. It is not intend to prevent traffic accident. It is intend for mass transit in traffic. It is for big city where traffic jam happened often which block movement of car and people who need to get to work on time. If there is an accident, there is an emergency stop. The biggest issue is car running into the track. In that case, an emergency light will lid up and a patrol police will come to deal with the traffic violator car and the elevated bus can move on on its path. Very efficient ways.No.
Any street-legal car, bike, or bicycle gives you way more maneuverability than an elevated bus on tracks.
Great news
I recalled a few years back when the "Straddling Bus" concept video unveiled, i was thinking its a good idea but a distant dream
And now its undergoing "Production" stage which seems like too good to be true

The bus is not run on a tram system so the rest is pretty nonsense. This is a play on public tram system with an added component of elevation which doesn't make it anymore safer. While trams are environmentally friendly, efficient and cost effective method of transport within urban areas. Safety concerns associated with trams, particularly poor maneuverability and braking, cannot be ignored. In fact, research indicates that for each kilometer traveled, tram systems are 12 times more likely to be involved in an accident than a car. It is for this reason research into personal rapid transit system took off which eventually morphed into mass transit ideas that are now part of most public transport systems. Going back to tram-esque system, with all its problems, is not necessarily a solution.
