China will build up to 42 Units Type 055 large destroyer

Two 055 frigates were launched into water in Dalian today.
At about 7:00 am on July 3, 2018, the two 055 big drives in the Dalian Shipyard were filled with water and opened the dock door, which means the ship was officially launched today.

A thief A always goes to another person's home to steal the owner B's things. Because the owner B is small and can't beat the thief A, the thief A steals things and will not be punished.
The owner B practiced martial arts, and becomed strong enough to fight. Thief A went still to the owner B's home to steal the owner B's things. The owner B said: "You can't steal my things any more, here is my home, you have no right here."
Thief A said: "I stole it before, and you didn't say anything. It is a normal and routine practice for me to steal things at your house. You can't stop me from stealing your home."

Without a battle escort carriers will not survive in a war
True. But I feel carriers have become too difficult to defend in today's era of high speed intelligent missiles.
Just imagine a simultaneous sea and air based missile attack on a carrier. Just need a few missiles to sneak through and the carrier could be disabled.

The real question is: Who dares to attack an US or Chinese aircraft carrier?
Of course, many countries have the ability to launch several missiles to attack or even sink the US or Chinese aircraft carriers. The real question is who dares to sink China or US aircraft carrier, and needs to think about the consequences of doing so.
Do you think that sinking a Chinese aircraft carrier with 3,000 people will China be willing to keep slient and act like nothing happend?
I tell you, if anyone sinks the Chinese aircraft carrier, China will launch 5,000 missiles to this country and will kill 100 000 people in this country as an end or just lanch one 3 mega tonnes H bomb for return.

52 units maybe a little bit too much even in my calculation。
IQ problem, can't help !

24 -36 055 for six destroyer detachments of China’s three fleets.

12-16 055 for 6-8 carriers.

24+12=?

36+16=?

We don't need 055 or even 052D for a long time, i think PN should only focus on Corvettes and Frigates only till 2030 and build up a fleet of atleast 15 Frigates and 15 Corvettes by 2030.

Pakistan needs to invest 100% of its energy into economic development. With money, we can develop strong military power.

If there is no money, then we have nothing. Even nuclear weapons require money to maintain.

You make a good point, investing in the economic base is vital in developing the future military and overspending on military hurts long term security. We should learn from China's post reform experience and see what could have been done better. During the 80s and 90s China's military funding was decimated due to economic focus, that also starved much of China's military industries to death or in severe famine. Industry is an area where you need long term accumulation of capital, knowledge, and technology. You can't just pick up where you left off if there was a long gap, people lose skills, workers get old, networks get broken. What China is doing now is trying to make up for the de-militarisation period and build up a military industrial base comparable to its economy. The gap between when you need military industries and when military industries can deliver the results you want can be deadly. China could deal with this due to its size relative to its foes at the time, Pakistan is not in the same situation. De-militarizing Pakistan "100%" is too much and it could lead to a worse situation, though improvements in resource management would help.

Not every country prefers to take the de-militarization route. The relative costs for each country in doing that is different. For China that is relatively easy in a semi-hostile environment due to its size. For Pakistan to accomplish that, it either needs to alter its external security situation and or depend on an outside force for security (again this creates a gap between when military industries are needed and when it can deliver the goods). Better relations between Pakistan and India would enable structurally lower defence spending.

Structurally speaking, Pakistan in its current external and internal environment necessitates higher relative defence spending than China during the early post reform era.
