China Will Build the Tallest Building In the World in Just 90 Days

Not trolling, but how is this possible?
5 floors per day?i hope the floors are long enough?
Even if proper engineering and architectural aspects are kept in mind,5 floors a day isn't possible, forget Chinese or anything,it's near impossible, think logically! For a strong building which is also resistant to extreme conditions like earthquake and other natural disasters, the fire safety measures etc, some time is needed, then how is it possible to make 5 floors a day?unless there are a thousand workers working of a floor? :cheesy:
I hope the building stays long enough if it happens, seriously!

Try to read the article and the thread first.

The parts are prefabricated in a factory.

They are not actually building it floor by floor, they are just assembling the parts that have already been built. It is called modular construction.

Saudi had a project too, what happened to that?

Btw, nothing will ever be as beautiful as burj khalifa. From a moralfag point of view it was an economical waste on it's own, the costs still havnt been covered by profits. But the neighboring developements benifitted a LOT.
MMoralfag mode off: loving the views, i get to see the entire dubai skyline and all the fireworks and lighting that happens at burjkhalifa from my 10th floor flat

I actually think these buildings are safer than normal buildings.

You have pre-fabricated parts that have gone under extensive testing at the factory being assembed by a skilled team that focuses on one thing and one thing only: assembly!

Compare it to a traditional building with traditional construction which takes years. Parts are sourced from all over the place and these parts are designed for all sorts of different projects. Once delivered they will sit somewhere on the construction site taking abuse till they're finally used in the construction. Every room, level and hallway is constructed slightly differently with slightly different material by different people doing different things.

I agree 100%.

It is much more efficient and consistent if the parts are pre-made in a factory.

That way, the builders only have to focus on assembly.

my bad, but still isn't fire safety compromised?
Btw if it's pre fabricated,nothing special:devil:

Watch some of the videos and it'll make sense. The floors are already built and you just have to pop em into place and "twist the screws."

It might sound unsafe, but they're safer than traditional buildings. Watch the videos and you'll know why.

Sorry but that makes no sense.

These are actually more fire proof. Everything is 100% built by the same factory under one roof in accordance with the same exact code and with 100% same materials.

If you're talking about fire not spreading from floor to floor, well the limitations are the same as the traditional method. The positive factor is that there is MUCH MORE control about how the walls, floors etc... are constructed and with what material.

is that including electrical wiring, sanitation, furnishing or excluding?....

Everything is assembled into the modules at the factory (from what I gathered from the videos). Instead of assembling the pipe on site, the do it at the factory.

Hangzhou Bay Bridge

China opened the world's longest bridge of its kind which is also one of the most majestic man made structures in the world.

The 26 miles or 42 kilometers Jiaozhou Bay bridge which will link the eastern port city of Qingdao to the island of Huangdao is the longest bridge in the world and cost more than 10 billion yuan or $1.5 billion. It was opened for traffic today after testing on the bridge was complete on Monday.

This breathtaking bridge which is also a driver's dream was built on 5000 pillars in four years. The bridge is also 110ft wide which means that plenty of traffic can go through it without the fear of a traffic jam. The bridge also consists of an undersea tunnel which have indeed made it a man made wonder of the world.

However, China is already making another bridge that will link southern Guangdong province with Hong Kong and Macau and its length will be 30 miles. So this bridge only has a few years to enjoy its status. That bridge will be complete in 2016 and it is estimated that it will cost $7 billion.

worth watching

building has been designed by some of the engineers who previously worked at the Burj Khalifa

These are the company headquarters in China. They call them Broad Town. Yes, that's a huge pyramid at the bottom.
