China Warns U.S. To Stay Out Of Sea Dispute

it's funny reading the chest thumping here by posters putting down American military migh...
And when you listen carefully, the sound from those chest thumping are mighty hollow...

well, maybe you can tell us what great military powers america has fought against then! iraq? afghanistan? somalia? cuba? vietnam? which country?
This is one of the stupidest questions around. The query is applicable to any country, not just the US. So what 'great military powers' has China fought against since the end of the Cold War? Korea? Give everyone a break. The Korean peninsula is divided. Iraq? Supposedly the PLA admitted that it could not handle the Iraqi army so PLA leadership presented a report to the Politburo predicting massive Allied casualties for Desert Storm, then embarrassingly withdrew it later when it turned out that Allied troops were more in danger of fratricide than of the Iraqi military. A lot of people mistakenly took it to mean the Iraqi army was utterly incompetent and ill equipped when the truth was evident to wiser heads: That the Americans' focus on studying new technology, tactics, the integration of both, persistent practice, and self criticism will produce no alternative endings for Desert Storm.

So what military powers, let alone 'great' ones, have China faced since the end of the Cold War?

It's China here . The next superpower in the making a competition to USA .
And Amrikis dont want any1 to compete against them (with them is ok like European countries)
They will try anything to stop China advancing

Well the Chinese aint exactly India's friend? Who 's side are you on?

well honestly speaking- it had stopped more powerful militaries in the past and if you put on an unbias military analyst cap on- it would be a smart strategic move on behalf of the PH govt..

I know you guys are a decent force but we are talking about the US military here. Do we need to compare the US military might vs China? There is a reason why other countries have US bases.

When war between China and VN, PH starts, you think U.S. will join VN and PH to fight China???

Seriously, you think U.S. will mess with China for her claims at SCS, which is thousands of miles away from its own country???

When China claims SCS, China will try to claim Taiwan, when China gets Taiwan, then Arunchal Pradesh, then Indian ocean etc etc etc

this tells me you have no clue about american history, world history, military history - when you make that " you think U.S. will mess with China for her claims at SCS, which is thousands of miles away from its own country" statement. If Us base is threatened it will not back down.

it's funny reading the chest thumping here by posters putting down American military might- oh well, every so often you have folks who have failed at remembering history and fall into the trap of repeating itself. I guess people forget Cuban missile crisis and how US stared down USSR blocked them and they retreated. it's funny how they forget how the US took on many more powerful nations where the parity of the military might of those were at par or greater and won... but who cares about " history".

The U.S. Navy is the largest in the world; its battle fleet tonnage is greater than that of the next 13 largest navies combined.

Us military technology is more than 20 plus years ahead of China

Those who own the skies own the battlefield...

The F-22's manufacturer, Lockheed Martin, and the Air Force cite a 30:1 kill ratio between Raptors and their prey. That doesn't equate to one F-22 taking on dozens of enemies; the figure means that for every Raptor shot down, 30 opposing airplanes are expected to be killed. "The F-22 was not built to fight a fair fight," Brenton says.

The most funniest part is on you, on one hand, you wanted to defend India and claimed to be an Indian, on the other hand when you feel powerless by comparing China with India, you simply switch to your so-called american identity, take a look at most of your own countrymen that live oversea on this forum, they are proud to be an Indian only, defend India as an Indian, taking criticizes as an Indian, what about you? :undecided:
Perhaps its time for you to make up your mind whether you're an Indian or be like a few others that simply denied their Indian identity, the bottom line is that you simply can't have both and expected to be respected and taken seriously period. :azn:

On topic, China has every right to warn US and other unrelated countries to stay out of the south China sea dispute as much if not more than India warn others not to interfere with the kashmir dispute.

When China claims SCS, China will try to claim Taiwan, when China gets Taiwan, then Arunchal Pradesh, then Indian ocean etc etc etc

We don't just claim Taiwan, Taiwan is a part of China by LAW. Very few countries in the world recognize Taiwan as an independent country.

Well the Chinese aint exactly India's friend? Who 's side are you on?

Just because you are not friendly with some one means that you have to deny that person's potentials? What kind of logic is that?

Only a few Pacific island nations, and some tiny African states.

Even the current Taiwanese government (KMT) believes in the one-China policy.

The same way the PRC was once rejected by the world? Keep in mind that the PRC was admitted into UN General Assembly in 1971. If consensus is what you go by, then would the PRC give up Taiwan if there is a UN consensus that Taiwan should be an independent country?

I think the UN has to convince the KMT first before even deciding to call Taiwan and independent country.

Inferior Chinese reverse engineered tech is awful at finding weapons of mass destruction in other countries.
