Israel is not an Ashkenazi state, but a mixed place.

Most of Ashkenazi Jews have been always living in the US and Western Europa in history ( e.g. look at the examples that you mentioned). They rightly took hugh advantages in high education and superpower high-tech environments that both pre-WWII Germany ( world's premium high-tech superpower at a time) and the post war US ( the superpower up to now) have had to offer, and made a lot from them, hence Ashkenazis have taken lots of the headlines.

Ashkenazi Jews have the highest IQ average in the world on paper, somewhere between 115 and 118, according to Lynn, Murray, Rushton and a host of prestigious researchers.

Yet most recent IQ sample results showed that Chinese Province of ZheJiang ( WU region - the same region as Shanghai and southern JiangSu Province) had an average IQ of 114.5, a 2004 sampling if I recall correctly.

Considering ZheJiang Province (which has population of about 100 million plus, almost 15X larger than entire Ashkenazi Jews population in both the US and Europa), is far less developed than either Germany or the US, I would say that the innate average IQ of Han Chinese Wu people would probably be about the same as that of Ashkenazis, if not higher.

The OP is very ironic to me since Imperial China was the premium superpower in agriculture and invented many related technologies at a time, far leading the rest of the world, yet today it is reduced to the level that requires outside "high-tech" assistance of a tiny middle eastern state.

The myth why "the Chinese need outside agriculture tech support" as per the OP is mainly due to the fact that the CPC education system has spectacularly failed to properly educate the highly, or put it correctly more, intelligent Chinese farmers!

And the myth why "Chinese is less innovative, than (Ashkenazi) Jews for example" is mainly due to the cultural mentality forged by 1000s-year-old centralised imperial Chinese system of harmonious govenance that systemically dis-encourages "outlier thoughts" and insititutionally punishes them instead.

Time to stop that ridiculous "inferiority syndrome" , start to think hard , act rationally, and learn how to be a proper proud Chinese.

We have good science until the barbaric Qing Dynasty destroyed our science. Ming Dynasty was about to start an industrial revolution due to its production of steel and pottery, rockets, cannons, had large surplus of labor that could be invested into industrialization, farm surplus, etc. , but as we all know, Industrial Revolution start societies are weak, and Ming Dynasty just didn't survive the way Britain did and we became conquered by barbarians due to traitors 吴三桂

It's indisputable fact that Israel is indeed highly advanced in desert agriculture. We don't "need" their technology but it is nice to have. China has no experience in desert agriculture since traditionally our lands have been highly productive and due to intensive planting and modern biotechnology we've been able to squeeze most of the value out of our limited land. The only thing we can't do is mechanized farming due to small privately owned farms that are non-transferable. I think China is the only country that has advanced agricultural biotechnology universally applied dating back to 1970's, but still uses horses and cows for farming.

With Israeli desert agriculture technologies we might be able to make huge plantations in the middle of the desert.

Think about majority (ethnic) Chinese nobel science winners. Where they came from originally?

Think about the most recent world science competition, Taiwan + China mainland took more than half of ALL Gold Medals. It would be intersting to see the stats of which region/s of China they largely came from.

Think about China's monoply position in world's maths olympiad ( ok, maths is not science, but they require the same fundamental qualities...), where majority of the winners came from?

Or just think about Speeder 2 if you really run out of examples, for god's sake!

My maternal ancestral lines were from Shanghai region; my paternal lines were from ZheJiang, Shanghai and Suzhou of JiangSu region - all WU. I know I am not very average, but give you a teaser: even though I didn't choose a science major, economics/finance instead, years back I took a very competitive Maths contest in Holland after undergrad for a top job offer from an elite privately-owned brokerage house. Guess what? I went thru 4 seperate tests in total alongwith about 300 or so probably among the quickest hotshots that Benelux had to offer, including some smart Ashkenazi Jews, with some contestants even coming from France. From the Day 1 to Day 4 I noticed that somehow the Test Runner looked at me in a weird way after the test, apparently frightened - I still can recall their facial expressions today ... days later I got a call from the company owner himself, who then invited me alone for a private dinner meeting in his holiday home cuz my combined maths score just broke the firm's record... And I believe I am still way below the level of China's top quality maths guys, and science guys for that matter...

By the way as we are at WU people, I 'll tell you guys this according to all I know ( I travel often) :

Among small scaled "street competitions" ranging from restaurants-pubs, import-export, wholesale-retail from tiny pockets of Britain, a large part of Portugal, majority parts of Spain, large parts of Paris & South France, a small part of Belelux & Germany, a large part of Austria, majority parts of Italy and a large part of Greece, one group of Chinese immigrants who more often than not stand out as the leader/winner in the local commecial activities.

This group of people who mostly , to my knowledge, are not well schooled and they come from various small townships, counties and also rural villiages of China, ZheJiang province of China to be more precise. They, or We as I am of the same ancestry as well, are WU people in action in the the heartlands of Europa.

CPC has done the best for education in China for the past 300 years. You think KMT was any better? Their literacy rate was 1/5th that of India for 37 years in power while Mao made China exceed India's literacy in 2010, in 1960. You might ask, well, why did ROC produce Qian and other famous scientists? My reply has to be: India also produced Nobel Prize winning scientists and even has a famous biophysics phenomena named after one of them (Ramachandran Plot). Educational resources are limited, either you can let everyone become literate and technically proficient or, you can take the other route which is to let everyone be illiterate except a tiny elite.

The later one is great for putting out famous names but we can all see which approach worked better from GDP/capita.

In fact, an interesting historical fact is Shanghai's GDP per capita and Taiwan's was the exact same in 1979, showing the whole theory of "free market grows economies faster than planned ones" is totally bullsh*t. In 1989, however, after 10 years of China's suicidal free market reforms by the American worshipping Deng, Shanghai's GDP per capita declined slightly while Taiwan's grew 8x. Only further economic planning and cracking down on corrupt oligarchs (many of which are related to Deng) by the newly formed National Development and Reform Council prevented China from turning into the next Soviet Union.
