Both countries should boost mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas, especially economics and trade, to raise two-way trade to US$60 billion in 2015 and gradually balance their trade, they said.

They agreed to speed up key transport connectivity projects, including those on Lang Son-Hanoi and Lao Cai-Haiphong highways, while conducting a feasibility study on a high speed railway route linking Lao Cai to Haiphong city.

Dung and Li agreed to increase monetary and financial cooperation and encourage their financial institutions to provide assistance to joint trade and investment cooperation projects.

To this end, a working group on infrastructure cooperation and another working group on monetary cooperation will be established soon.

They encouraged more people-to-people exchanges to consolidate bilateral friendship and agreed to jointly organise the second Vietnam-China youth festival later this year.

The two countries will make a greater effort to build a common border of peace, stability and prosperity, and increase coordination at regional and international forums, contributing to global peace, stability and prosperity.

Both sides agreed to put forwards the common perception of the two Parties’ top leaders, strictly adhering to the signed agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of sea issues between Vietnam and China.

It is necessary to optimise the governmental-level negotiation mechanism for border and territorial issues between Vietnam and China, maintaining consultations and friendly negotiations to seek basic and long-term solutions acceptable to both sides.

At the same time, both sides will consider ‘transitional’ solutions for sea-related issues, including cooperation for shared development, that do not affect each other’s standpoints and plans. A joint working group will be established to deal with the work.

They agreed to increase the number of meetings of a joint working group on the area off the Bac Bo (Tonkin) Gulf and an expert-level working group on cooperation in less sensitive issues at sea, so as to soon conduct research and compare Holocene sedimentary deposits in Vietnam’s Red River Delta with those in China’s Chang Jiang River Delta.

Other sea cooperation areas include marine environment protection, marine research, search and rescue work at sea, natural disaster prevention and maritime transport at sea.

Both sides agreed to better settle all sea-related disputes and not take actions to further complicate the situation through hotlines and other existing mechanisms.

They pledged to fully and effectively implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and work closely together to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea, in line with DOC and working towards the Code of Conduct (COC).

Vietnam 120% and China 20 %. :D

Vietnam 120% and China 20 %. :D

Comrade, that does not even add up. You can not "split" 120% and 20%, that would total 140%. The only solution is to further split it with a third party and give them a -40% portion.

So I'll revise the deal:

Philippines -40%
Vietnam -20%
China +160%

That Daiviet boy is just an anti-communist fool. The article only talks about co-operation in the Tonkin gulf but that Daiviet guy wants to twist the facts and spread lies by saying that the VCP has bowed down to the evil CCP plan by giving up their sovereignty in the Spratly. At other place, he said the CCP is stupid and can't do anything to get their claims. That boy is full of contradiction.

What do you mean by trash country? Do you mean like how Chinese companies come into your country to run bauxite mines, make money, then leave the pollution and trash behind? :smokin:

why so greedy? you have a lot of money and are rich if compared to us. 50:50 is okay.

Greediness is a good thing. Vietnam is still a small country nowadays because it was not greedy enough.

Better way to solve disputes between two countries

Although, the Vietnamese peasant's brains don't have capability to think smart but their instincts are right. They know what good and what bad for them.

The communist leaders are smart but not in the genius level. They can easily be fooled by someone who are smarter than them.

Sometimes, it is better to trust your instinct than trust your knowledge. You think you are smart? Hey there are someone smarter.

The old saying, a mountain is high but there are always higher mountains. Or the American saying, one brain cannot be smarter than many brains. The communist leaders they should listen to the commoners more often.

The old saying is incorrect because we know highest mountain is 珠穆朗玛峰, Chomolungma.
