China urges EU to lift arms embargo

Anyway it does not matter to China in any way. They hardly need need any weaponry from the EU, they are making nearly everything themselves; except for jet engines and sonars.

True, but Europe will be a nice market for our J-20 and J-10B (once the JSF screws up)

You know how embarrassing you are to Americans everywhere?

Our schools are not this bad.

The Raphael, and Typhoon are miles ahead of J-10 and 15. He was silly on strike bombers though.

Nevertheless, the Chinese airforce won't be on par with their European counterparts even by 2025 as it's impossible to replace half of your fighters with 5th gens in 5 years. Not to mention the lagging of AWACs and sophisiticated bombers...

Not i am chest-thumping, but Europe is weak, they can't even take care of Libya without the help from US.

US is our true benchmark, not any of those European junks.

The Rafael and Typhoon are miles ahead of the J 10A. However thats not the case unless they can get a serious upgrade, when it comes to the J 10B, or J 15. Funny how people want the J 20 to be a Stealth bomber considering that would make it far more dangerous.

As for the replacing half the air force with fifth gen its certainly possible considering the budget of the PLAAF by that time. On the subject of AWACs China actually has an advantage in the quality of AWACs. The KJ 2000 with its three statically mounted AESAs out performs anything the Europeans have. However since we are comparing a single country to a continent they would certainly have more AWACs. And what sophisticated bombers do you speak of?

Calm down. There is better ways to state your beliefs.

Eg.

Europe has significantly inferior technological, and industrial capabilities compared to America. We should follow their example instead.

Europe has few niche technology fields above China, but in an entire arm race they cannot compete with China.

They don't even have the manned space mission, look how their Galileo navigation system is an utter failure.

If the EU were to lift the arms embargo would China buy high end military hardware like fighter jets, subs etc?

No. China's progress in those major fields are on par if not surpassed EU and Russia.

It is those subsystems and components that are needed. Just like how the US buys Rolls Royce engines from the UK, China takes great interest in Israeli UAV components, French avionics components, and German diesel engines.

China's desire to have the embargo lifted is mostly for political reasons only. An arms embargo will always stain relations, no matter how close they are. You never see a US embargo on UK, do you? If China and the EU want to go into a serious relationship, the first step must be to remove the arms embargo.

But I highly doubt China will purchase much. Not any major equipment, anyways.

They are ahead of the J-10A, but has serious disadvantages when it comes with the TVC- and AESA-equipped J-10B.

They also do not currently have the AESA radar that the J-15 possesses (and the J-11B will soon get). A military commentator puts the J-15 (which is NOT considered one of China's top high-end fighters) on part with the Typhoon and Rafale. China is also working on multiple stealthy programs, such as the J-16, J-18, J-19, and J-2X. Europe doesn't even have a 4.5 generation upgrade for their existing fighters yet.

Europe doesn't have any bombers. China, on the other hand, is working hard on the H-X strategic stealth bomber.

China has KJ-2000 AWACS with L-band AESA, Y-8 AWACS, and Y-7 AWACS. Enough said.

Of course China's air force is not on par with European air forces. It is ahead.

the rafeal an eu typhoon are far better than j 10 and j 15 . it wont be lifted the j 20 is no fighter its a deep penitration strike bomber. eu will not build resciprocity outside of goods

Rafale and Typhoon do not have TVC, AESA, plasma stealth technology, DSI intakes, and such. The J-10B does.

Rafale and Typhoon do not have AESA and potential TVC. J-15 does.

J-20 isn't the only project. China is also reportedly undertaking the stealthy J-16, J-18, J-19, and J-2X.

Like your present versions of J10 doesnt have all there the next versions will be having all these similarly the next versions of rafale and typoon will have aesa and remaining all thing and in design the rafale and typhoon are more stealthy than ur J10

I completely agree that the later trenches of Rafale and Typhoon will tear J-10B to shreds but with 2 afterburners and significantly larger hull size, they are not stealthy.

First of all, it is "stealthier", not "more stealthy". I am getting tired of correcting bad grammar.

Secondly, you have no way of knowing that so you are just trolling.

That is pure opinion with no fact basis.

J-10B is a present version, my friend.

Rafale and Typhoon are NOT as stealthy as the J-10B; the J-10B uses DSI intakes, RAM, modified wings, and supposedly plasma stealth technology as well. AESA radars also possess Low Probability of Intercept abilities, which make them harder to detect than other kinds. The Eurofighter and Rafale have none of these things.

And like I said, J-10 series is not a high end fighter in the PLAAF. China is believed to have the J-16, J-18, J-19, J-20, and J-2X in development.
