At present there isn't a military version.

The purpose of ths thread is to consider this as a starting point for as a potential military helicopter given that it is designed for heavy lift.

I'm pretty sure it has a military version under developed and rumor has it that it's military version is Z-8G(Z-8 big modification).

Dunno if it's only me or...but the colour combi of the paint job looks shitty to me.

Not only with this helo, the same shitty colour design jobs prevail everywhere I see :

- J-10 and J-11 of exhibitions and performance unit - remember those yellow red; or blue/yellow/red strips? That's embarrassing!

- that new C919 - with a dark green nose with a white tip

- both of those combat aircraft trainers - with silly blue/white or red colours

... etc, etc, all look like some half-ars*ed sissies!


I really really hope that J-XX won't come with the same yellow/red/blue strips!!!


China needs to sack the colour scheme design staffs for both military and civilian aircraft teams, to update to a much more modern aircraft colour design approach, seriously!
