China trade sanctions 'failing to cripple Australian economy'

Pay attention in 2019 the household debt to disposable income ratio was 120% which means a majority of households were already over leveraged pre-COVID. COVID made it worse.

The question isn’t weather household debt is serviceable but its effects on disposable income ..less disposable income = less consumer spending.

But that's not an unusual ratio. Most mid to high income countries are at this level of debt or higher. In addition China has the retail spending per capita of some European countries (5k USD vs. 6.2k for UK)

. .
Sanctions only really work against weak developing nations, not developed nations like Australia, which has robust financial and trade sectors, and is firmly within the US camp.

Nope. Australia has decided that they're ok with making less money but not ok dealing with china. It is a rare decision few countries take, but many countries are making.

Who is the real dumbass here? We shall see who needs to beg whom for improving ties. Norway was the one begging not China and Australia is also the one that is begging not China. And i have proven you are wrong with the South Korean company that also suffered consequences after losing the China market which is still hurting 6 years later. China is the biggest client on this planet everybody wants a piece of the pie only you are stupid enough not to realize it who needs who more.
Lmao, its hilarious how you first say something, then deny it, and then essentially double down on your first statement.

Bro, you haven't proven anything. All you've essentially done here is spout nonsense and express nothing of value.

Lmao. Just stop, you're embarrassing yourself. 🤣

Soooo, we...agree?

There is a difference between not wanting to break ties and doubling your profits, and only making a bit of profit. Norway was rich before China's growth, Norway will continue to be rich even after a potential Chinese sanctioning regime. Besides, Norway is a member of the largest single trading union in the world, they'll be just fine.

In all our conversations you've shown a great lack of critical thinking. You clearly don't know how sanctions and economics even work.

Its no wonder that you tried to sneakily reply to me, without actually directly tagging me, or using the reply function.

Norway is not member of the EU.

Norway is not member of the EU.

It is a member of the EEA, so even if its not a member of the EU, it's still a part of the largest economic union in the world.

.
Chinese trade sanctions? is there such a thing

anyway it will benefit Australia and they will buy more local

I think you should stick to commenting on UK's economy, let Aussies deal with our economy. The fact is that China was/is Australia's biggest export destination, and to loose the biggest market in the world is going to have various negative impacts on Aussie economy. No other market comes close to the sheer size of the Chinese market for Australian export, and it will take a lot of years for Australia to find proper destination for its exports. We are a small country of only 25 Million people; there is no LOCAL usage for such huge production.

The problem is that it is not a member of the EU and only business partner. Not being a member of EU means no priviliges other EU members enjoyed. If an EU member vetoes Norway in participating an EU project, nothing Norway can do.

Norway export products to the EU are :
1) oil & gas (products)
2) fish.

What happened when oil & gas & fish are empty?

Except China's house hold income as a % of GDP is much lower than Europe and the US while China's GDP is lower. Never mind you are banned.

Thats where politics comes into play. Why would anyone in the EU stop Norway? Doesn't make much sense to do so.

Also, don't underestimate the EEA.

Finally, Norway is investing in fields other than oil and fishing. Norway has a robust financial center, and is using it to expand its economy, as well as diversify its revenue sources.

France blocked Norway application to become EU member in 1962.
I doubt very much Norway will have all the investment freedom under the EEA directive in the EU like full EU member.

you aren't making any sense ..calm down, breath into a paper bag and show me on this doll where big bad Aussie hurt you.
This is typical of CCP trolls/bots and bootlickers, lol.
Wow compelling argument. Cannot argue with that logic and amount of facts. An NSA bot could not follow the script any better.

I see two paid shills fuming about another big bad Chinaman bringing up inconvenient plain facts about Australias actual both global and China related decline in coal exports and regional multi year record low output, you'd apparently rather not talk about, so my comment obviously made enough sense to trigger their denial and projecting angry outburst.

1962 isn't 2021.

Regardless, unless you can prove my point wrong, instead of speculating, my point stands.
