Sangrur: A 15-year-old schoolboy died on the spot of a head injury he sustained from a fall from the scooter when he got entangled in a China-made string. The incident happened on Sunday, the day Tanvir Singh, a class IX student of General Gurnam Singh School, turned 15.

Tanvir was going to buy a birthday cake for himself, when he got entangled in a string near the Nankiana roundabout and lost balance. His scooter hit an electric pole and he died on the spot. He was decalred brought dead by doctors at the hospital, the victim's neighbours said.

His father Mohinder Singh is an SDO in BSNL and posted in Srinagar. His colleague SDO Alok Jindal reached the hospital soon after hearing about the incident, where he was told about the tragic incident.

DC Kumar Rahul said, "The administration has already banned Chinese strings and will look into the incident to take stern action against those found selling them". DSP Swaran Singh said police were looking into the incident.

Why should I condemn China when I think it does a superb job of uplifting millions out of poverty, developing it's industry at light speed without waging wars far from home, our industry profiting massively from trading with China? Why?

China has never done me any harm and I see it as unfair how you guys, who are in all accounts worse than China, have the cheek to criticise China.

Just giving you guys a dose of reality from a non-Chinese perspective. And rest assured that there are many more Germans who think like I do!

However, you may criticize India for not developing at lightning speed; the point is India is a democratic nation while China is authoritarian one.

For all the wealth in the world, I would not trade India’s democracy to China’s authoritarian regime. Human freedom is more important than anything else

In case you missed my other post about whether India should scrap democracy where I mentionned Maslow's hierarchy of needs. What you said about freedom is historically as well as scientifically not proven. In fact, all successful domocracies were in their industrialisation phase anything but democratic. Not in Germany, not in France, not in the UK, the USA, Japan, Korea or Taiwan. NONE!

How is the Chinese gov. brutal in comparison to your gov. where millions are dying a slow and painful death caused by hunger and simple diseases? Just make a simple comparison of the social indicators of both countries!
