1971 , Kargil war, or even recent LOC flare up, not even a single supporting gesture from Chinese towards Pakistan.

BTW why is this statement coming from Pakistani defence minister instead of a Chinese one ?

Of course one must expect that and our friends are.

To what extent is what many people get confused at. Many believe that a friendly nation coming to someone's AID is the same as sending battalions of troops and squadrons of air power. A very common misconception bcz if this was so we wouldn't have fought two world wars ( wars that were fought bcz friends thought they were next if this doesn't end now) but multiple world wars and global wars.

In most cases a friend helping you in war time would be giving you monetary aid, weapon aid, refueling bases, political support e.t.c and that is huge enough!!

And China has been there when were or are in trouble. Both economically and politically. I have often highlighted the Osama bin laden raid ( the man that started the war on terror) and how bcz if China we were saved from some extremely severe repercussions and economically CPEC. Some give the project a hard time but they don't understand the effects of the 2008-2013 government. They had stripped the country clean with such an energy crisis that seemed would not even be combatted much less end for decades. We were stunted.

There is nothing wrong in the statement of both ilk but why discuss something that has not been said and why discuss a statement so routine.


Anyhow its useless. There won't be a war between india and pakistan. Nuclear nations dont fight a war with each other. For the last 16 years we have been having border conflicts like this every one or two years later. Its the always the same. Even the reporting and postings both sides. I am not kidding. Check old threads out here, its the same on both sides going as far as 2000s. Same reporting, same news, same posts only different posters. :p this is a complete waste of time and resources and don't even get me started on the men.

No doubt about it. In wars both sides are alone unless a third country feels his interests ( and these interests have to be big enough to start a war) are effected or they feel they are next in number and its better to fight now.

Even the NATO nations must know that the US can force us to fight a war that may not collide with our interests but we can't force the US to fight a war for us that collides her interests.

Yes it is normal but in war time its something else also the maximum height. In war times if somebody defends your reason for war and supplies then it's a huge thing due to it taking sides.

Yep. Complete agreed. I have often found it funny. A politicians or a general makes a statement and forgets about it two minutes later and we here and on media spend days discussing it. May even bring it up years later.

I will agree to disagree here bcz after URI the war hysteria from your media and politicians as well even now is strong. We have been quite meek in our statement response. Its only after the bus that we have started to give such statements.

We are also busy in trying to uplift the economy and the media is busy with the new COAS pick.

Statements are made on both sides. Aggravated by media and social media cronies.

As for that one. Its the same as tooth for jaw finger for hand rubbish. I have seen these conflicts and studied them. Nothing changes. Its the same script on both sides from politicians to posters.

We know this now. Believe me we are aware of this. We gave our oldest ally Arabia a massive no on Yemen bcz of shias in pakistan. An answer they were not expecting and got us a few jibes from UAE but we held. No troops for your war. Even the 36 coalition army we asked questions about the absence of Iran.

Despite GCC and Saudi issues we are building relations with Iran and despite US anger we are building bridges with Russia.

In fact despite us being close with China, we are increasing relations with Japan step by step.

We are working on our own national interest and yes our foreign policy could be better but its not as bad as many make it out to be.

There is new outlook in pakistan about nationalism and pakistanism and first pakistan. Take my word for it.

They got free access to Indian ocean without spending a penny.. They will use it only as a fire escape (cheap & fully secured sea route will continue as their trade route).. They got a big market to dump their cheap products and obsolete technology.. Also getting highest returns as an investor.. Go through CPEC agreements, they played smartly.. Their investments are fully secured and they will get the return if these power projects will fail..

I just came back from Pakistan a few weeks ago so I'm fully aware of the ground REALITY of CPEC. All over Pakistan there are massive world class infrastructure and industrial projects going on that were deemed impossible just 2 years ago. And they are all set to grow with the successful initiation of CPEC. Even the poor in Pakistan are enjoying a much better standard of living than ever before. Chinese input, expertise and know how have IN FACT benefitted local Pakistani business and industries in becoming more high tech and reaching world class standards.
