China to manufacture new chandelier for Quaid's mausoleum

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China on Tuesday signed an agreement to implement the project of manufacturing and maintenance of a new Chandelier at Mazar-e-Quaid.
Adviser to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui and Ambassador of China to Pakistan Sun Weidong signed the 13-page agreement at the ministry of National History and Literary Heritage on Tuesday.

Pakistan, China discuss collaboration in vocational education
Addressing the signing ceremony, Siddiqui said that since the first chandelier was manufactured by Chinese experts, the government requested China for technical assistance to manufacture a new chandelier as well.
However, he said, the Chinese government requested Pakistan to manufacture a similar new chandelier.

On the occasion, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong said, “We look forward to work closely with Pakistan in all these fields with consensus. We want to push forward Pakistan China relations to new heights.”
The chandelier was an icon between China-Pakistan friendship that was presented by Chinese government in 1971, added Weidong.
“In 2012, upon the request of Pakistan, China has agreed to give maintenance and also make replica and renewal of this chandelier after more than four decades,” he said.
