Dude,no one revises history, just different perspective.
KMT held all the wealth and resources and tax income of our nation at that time, so they should be and were the main force to counter Japan. However, after Japanese occupied the vast area of east and central China, they had to separate their troops(close to 1 million) to maintain governance in those areas, where CCP had its impacts. The Japanese launched one and another campaigns trying to root out CCP in the rear, that's the main things they did at the late stage of their occupation. If you consider only face to face battle as major battle then you are right.
I salute to the KMT soldiers because they are Chinese and they did their job to fight the Japanese. But KMT was actually an unqualified ruling party, as you can see, six years later after CCP got all the nation's resources, they could countered a super power, way stronger than Japan,in Korea.
I didn't dispute the fact that KMT MIGHT have been an unqualified/illegitimate ruling party back then, but then again can't say for sure , since there was never a poll/vote etc. That will be another discussion altogether. What I was just pointing out is that it's the KMT that 'won' the war(if there is any victory whatsoever that is) for China, NOT THE CCP whose contribution was insignificant back then. That's the simple fact I was pointing out. However , the CCP says its the one who liberated China and fought off Japan during world war II ,which is false and very dangerous to lie about such a critical world event in a country's history. Its only now that they are trying to lure Taiwan that they have began to recognise KMTs major role in the war(though they still put it below theirs .lol)
Anyway, to be honest, I don't blame them though, since its normal for any ruling party to do so, so as to legitimise itself to the people and boast its image/ruling credentials. So I don't blame them that much, its politics and its never been a clean/fair/honest game.
i thought i had already debunked the myth in this forum that CCP revised the history and took the entire glory of fighting the Japanese. was that a conversation with you? @mike2000
Nope bro.
I do have some little respect for the KMT though. Even though shiang kai shek wasn't a brilliant military leader per se. The KMT did fight brilliantly and did what it could with the means it had. Contrary to what many out there think. Yes they ere poorly armed and made many grave mistakes, but they still managed to hold on Japan from taking over the whole China for over 10 years of fighting (yes they started fighting Japan even before world war II started), meanwhile Japan basically rolled over almost all Asian countries (plus ven our territorial colonies and U.s in Philippines) in a matter of months/less than a year. So their so their achievement shouldn't be brush aside, and they did all this whole fighting a bloody civil war. Imagine the Syrian government today in a bloody civil war and now having to fight against a well armed/trained/equipped army like Israel..... Many countries won't last amonth to be honest. So they tried their best.
I'm an avid follower of world war II in Asia by the way, red/watched a lot about it.
