BEIJING: In the future, China will encourage more purchases from trading partners that have signed free trade agreements (FTAs) with the country, such as Pakistan, New Zealand and Association for South East Asian Nations member countries.

To boost imports, the State Council – China’s cabinet – has pledged to cut import duties on selected energy products and raw materials and consumer goods, says a statement printed in the China Daily. Vice Premier Li Keqiang has said that China will import $10 trillion worth of goods and services in the five years ending 2015, the paper said.

In 2011, China’s imports reached $1.74 trillion, accounting for 9% of global trade. That amount is expected to grow by about $100 billion annually. In 2012, the figure rose to $1.82 trillion. The country had set a 10% target for foreign trade growth in 2012, and official estimates are that combined imports and exports are expected to top $3.87 trillion during the year.

Good news so as China increases purchases from Pakistan, Pakistan can increase export to Chinese 1.5 billion market. Pakistan needs mass export to China, though it will be difficult to compete with local competitors, so Pakistan has to invest in exports that will be successful in China.

Good news so as China increases purchases from Pakistan, Pakistan can increase export to Chinese 1.5 billion market. Pakistan needs mass export to China, though it will be difficult to compete with local competitors, so Pakistan has to invest in exports that will be successful in China.

I agree that it's good news. Selling weapons to Pakistan is one thing but China should try to increase trade with allies and help her economy and people if possible. Good steps going forward for both countries.

China is 4th largest export market of Pakistan. Pakistan’s share in China’s import less. Main products being exported to China are Cotton Yarn, Cotton Fabric, Leather Tanned and Fish & Fish Preparations.

Pakistan needs to do a lot more to export to China.

The main exports are textile, carpets, sporting, surgical equipment, agriculture, machinery, cement,... Pakistan produces one of the best sporting products in the world. I always find many many products in sporting stores here in the US. FIFA World Cup soccer balls were designed and exported by Pakistan. There is a huge rise in entertainment exports and gems. Now Pakistani software and IT exports have reached the $1 billion mark.

Not really, bumping years old threads and replying to members who aren't even active anymore is confusing. Sticky threads can be used for updates on old matters but bumping thread confuses people to think that it's some new development.

More exports surely lead to more development! It can be encouragement for Pakistani Government to export more of Secondary Industry, leading the govt. to encourage more industrialists

On the other hand, it will also attract other countries to look at what we export. Look in the long term mate

That's why there are sticky threads. It's confusing because it appears on the forum home but when one clicks on it, it turns out to be some old dead thread that has been bumped up. Anyways, I am not a mod but for forum quality its just request to a fellow member.
