Cairo, December 15 (QNA) - Egypt and China have signed a special contract whereby China will supply 700 of cars and vehicles worth 80 million pounds to Egypt. The contract aims to support the Egyptian police with the first consignment of a grant provided China to compensate for the losses of the Ministry of Interior of equipment and vehicles during the events of the 25 January revolution. The contract was signed for the Egyptian Interior Ministry by Major General Osama Ismail, Director of General Police Supplies Department and for by China Ma Jian Chun, Plenipotentiary of economic and trade affairs at the Chinese embassy in Cairo. For its part, the Egyptian the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation said it is currently coordinating with the Chinese side and the Egyptian Interior Ministry with regard to procedure for the second consignment of cars and vehicles to the Egyptian police, estimated at about 300 additional cars and vehicles, during the first half of 2012 to complete a total number of thousand cars and vehicles.(QNA) OM
