It is a dispute land. So that is why China is demanding that India remove the existing concrete buildings. So for China to move back, India will need to remove any buildings as that is the condition. Because there is a new leader in China, he would not just move back the soldiers until the condition are met. So the best way to diffuse the issue is for India to make some concessions and allow the Chinese leader to save face. Too bad that India is in such a dilemma. I don't envy you guys. If India do not make any concessions, than the only way to remove the soldiers is by force. And this is the only way without any concessions from the Indian side.

india now has far stronger economy to support a war.
india now has far better defence industry to support a war.
india now has far superior UNSC influence on dealing with such a war.
india now has far more defence budget to be allocated onto the border area to prepare for such a war.

First of all, I'm not and have not chest thumping for China. I'm a Taiwanese American. I just call the facts as I see it. If anything, I share my view from the American or Taiwanese perspective. I do not know what a mainland Chinese perspective is as I have never lived there.

As for where American stands, I'm against America get involve in anyone's war. American military should support only America, not India, Japan or anyone out there. If its an Asian problem, Asians should deal with it themselves without involving America.
If India wants America to protect it, it can sign a treaty with the neocons in Washington and America will station troops there.

As for the current issue between China and India in regard to the troop incursion. Its the fact that the area is disputed. And if its a disputed area, it need to be solved that way. If you want to keep on insisting that its not disputed, than 1) either the other major countries in the world need to agree with you. 2) You need to resolve it by negotiation or by force with the other country that has conflicting claims.

For example, US has no position on Kashmir on whether its a Pakistani or Indian territory. But if India start to claim Lahore or the entire Punjabi state in Pakistan and claim that its a disputed territory, than others, include the US, would be against the Indian claim. So the disputed territory, as everyone else in the world regard it as disputed, need to be resolved between India and China. As no one else, including US, believe that China had invaded Indian territory. And because of that, I believe that the Chinese troops would not be moved unless there is a concession from India.
