I sympathize with the Sri Lankans as much as anyone else and I agree that our poor choices made Sri Lanka suffer a lot. Having said all this, I'd like you to take a moment to ponder over the poor choices you've made with discriminatory practices back in the 60s and 70s that started this whole mess. On topic, China has no option but to support Pakistan on this. In case, you do not support Pakistan you will lose your Muslim majority province or end up fighting an insurgency 100 times its current size.

In another 10 years, you will see a change in your own foreign policy vis a vis Pakistan. But as of date, even if you want to you cannot do zilch to them. Your future routes for oil, trade and access go through Pakistan. A lot of Pakistanis on this forum talk about how much China is doing for them. Nothing other than we agree to disagree. Our stance is simple The People's Republic of China never had control on the territory it's claiming. It may have belonged to the Qing empire at one point. So when the Qings make a comeback, we'll be more than happy to sit down and discuss it with them under the framework of the Sikh-Qing treaty
