China-Sri Lanka Cooperation: News & Discussions

I dont consider him a "friend" anymore. He passed the limit when he tried to sell the country and patriotism for the gain of his politicians and ran around trolling in Sri Lankan threads ranting some delusional nonsense. he is pretty much ignored/ not take seriously,
As long as a country is progressing, it simply doesn't matter who's at the helm.

Buts that not how its in SL,
these people are trolling and ranting nonsense in SL threads because the politcian lost power. There is even a worse troll who is spamming memes in every thread.

My friend, you truly are very comprehensive, your answer speaks the Confucian collectivist harmony that we all aspire for and cherish. Yes, that is true, who ever is at the helm --- matters not. So long as he or she is leading the nation to growth, stability.

@Godman @HeinzG @Gibbs --- i would counsel you all and other proud Sri Lankan members here to review the wisdom of our friend @rott , it is true. Either it be Sirisena or Rajapaksa , the most important is that your country is now at peace, and now focused on rehabilitation, growth. Sri Lanka has now surpassed the days of conflict, now it is time for national revivalism.

China and Japan , no doubt, will play a role in this national manifest destiny dialectic. China and Japan will work together (maybe even compete together, hey that's healthy!) to build Sri Lanka. And most importantly, in the process, forge and integrate Sri Lanka even closer into the bosom and heart of Greater East Asia. :)

Haha my friend, you give me too much credit. I was merely stating an obvious simple respond to our Lankan friends. It's nothing out of the ordinary, really!
But I do have something to compliment you on. You have an excellent command over English and you can really express your self. Have you ever considered becoming an author?

The collectivist oriented path is the only path @HeinzG. Best wishes for your wonderful nation.

This is what Japan and China shares deeply in. We should consider exporting this Confucian-work ethic and culture abroad in tandem with our products, my brother. China and Japan clearly show message to the whole world in how we do things when we both compete to develop partners.

I guess, if the two nations work together in promoting inclusivist development scheme across East Asia and beyond into Eurasia, it will become the norm sooner than we anticipated. It is encouraging to see Japan moving to that direction as far as its Korean and Russian policies are concerned. This will only bring in more synergy and help promote our Northeast Asian values.

I am for healthy competition between China, Japan, Korea and others in Sri Lanka and elsewhere; this is because we are well-versed in the basic principles of inter-state diplomacy, which is non-aggression, non-interference and harmonious relationship.

SL is need of massive economic reforms if we need to revive the country.
Currently SL has very high debt and very low tax revenue alongside a bloated inefficient public sector and large number of loss making SOEs.
SL gives free education and healthcare as well as free uniform materials for school children(Which was replaced with a voucher system by new govt)
The issues were discussed in a thread but well it got spammed and trolled as well sadly.

That path is no longer available to Sri Lankans. Probably a result of colonialism.
The only thing these people are interested in deifying their politicians and selling everything to bring them to power. If you look at SL history we started way ahead of most Asian countries and was relatively more stable. Mamy massive development projects were initiated during the time when India , China were suffering famines and Korea was in complete poverty. However many things went for the worst in Sri Lanka later.

Unlike you guys only a few Sri Lankans vote based on policies. Majority are after lies of patriotism or election giveaways or completely blind servitude. It's a problem shared by our neighbours specially South India.

I personally don't like those kind if people and that's my person opinion. I try my best to help Sri Lanka move forward even during governments I am opposed to but if people only want to disrupt then I ignore them.

We are facing some tough times now. But staying hopeful that darker days might pass for good.

No. You don't understand Mr.Nihonjin. Sirisena is a puppet planted on the thrown by India and some Western countries. Pretty much everyone despise his rule including the dictatorial PM Ranil Wikramasinge. Sri Lanka has to face some tough times but people are rallying behind the true sons of the motherland to kick the stooges out. Anyhow it might take another 4 years max. Let's wait and see.

@Nihonjin1051 now do you understand what I said? These people has no interest in the progress of SL. They live in dream worlds centuries behind and try to drag the country to that level as well. These guys are doing everything to disrupt the government even spreading Sinhalese supremacist ideologies and racism. They are nothing but parasites that sucked life from my country while poisoning it. You don't know how much this country suffered due to them.

both me and @Gibbs are unofficially ignoring this anti-Sri lankan caveman for a reason. He will never come to the 21st century. And he cant say anything othere than ranting thsee kind of delusional nonsense unable to take the defeat of his dear leader. I am now adding this guy to my ignore list permanently. He has no shame in selling the country to protect and deify his bunch of scoundrels who he calls "true sons of the motherland" hikz.

Sri Lanka is going to be a trade and financial hub and the gateway to South Asian markets for the East and the west. We are planning on signing trade agreements with India, China , Japan ,Thailand , Korea etc. And we have started exploring the TPP or a FTA with the US and other East Asian nations.
Sri Lanka is also partnering with the US for their Indo-Pacific Economic Corridor initiative
US Calls On Sri Lanka To Join Indo-Pacific Economic Corridor | Lanka Business Online
While partnering with China's silk route.
The proposed Colombo International Financial Zone which hopes to fill the gap between Dubai and Singapore can be used as a platform for China to further internationalize the Yuan as mentioned here
Welcome to BOI

A few brainwashed Sri Lankans who want a isolationist policy to keep their politicians in power forever can't really do anything to stop Sri Lanka progress how much the try to disrupt. We have seen these wolves in sheep's clothing so many times throughout our history that shout these conspiracy theories and lies of false patriotism

So I'll ask again. What the heck is Sinhalese supremacist racism? Care to explain.

BTW what is wrong with you? It seems that you can't even bear the opposing viewpoint from your own.

This is what the British did to India when they saw internal conflicts among the kings. They took advantage of it and tore India apart. I wouldn't want to see a Sri Lanka be taken advantage of.
Cheers!

What is wrong with me eh? That's a question you should ask from your mirror.
Still continuing your nonsensical ranting about conspiracies and now putting up the banner of "True sons of the motherland" after you were stripped naked of your lies of patriotism.
Shamelessly ranting the same nonsense over and over only interested in selling everything about SL for the gains of your scoundrels. We are not in the dark ages for such dumb conspiracy theories. You don't give a damn about the country only using it as tool to deify your politicians and even boasting that MR is the image of SL. many People who voted MR are now continuing as Sri Lankans and helping Sri Lanka's progress not disrupt and sabotage the country in a shameless way like you or use the country to deify anyone.
Bringing pathetic excuses against economic liberalisation and privatization programs and even saying that colombo shouldn't be organized Becuase you can't stand the Megapolis project.
You are one of the most disgusting people I have ever seen only interested in putting your scoundrels to power by even dragging Sri Lanka backwards to dark ages. Shamelessly worshipping scoundrels like gods.

From now on you are on my ignore list so I won't be bothering with your nonsense. The likes you have done enough damage but now sri lankans aren't stupid. Wolves in sheep's clothing are easily seen. Rallying a bunch of retards to break coconuts aren't going to change the forward momentum. People have no time to waste on bringing cavemen to the 21st century.
Now Bye bye

British are no longer taking advantage of that. It's our own people who use ethnic issues for political gain.
Singapore was able to end that by taking extreme action against anyone who promotes such ideas and educating singporeans to think with an open mind. Lee Kuan Yew even mentioned how he watched Sri Lanka fail on that side and how he avoided that problems.
In fact our civil war was completely avoidable if then governments acted properly back then and brought strict laws against hate speech

British exploited the power struggle between the Muslims and Hindus in India. But in Sri Lanka, British created a Tamil elite group from the scratch to dominate Sinhala majority. They created the problem in Sri Lanka rather than exploiting it.

See you skipped my question again and has begun writing page full of nonsense instead of giving a clear cut answer to my question. Be a gentleman and accept the fact that you are wrong.

Economic liberalization and privatization policies of UNP has always done massive damage to Sri Lanka. So I tend to view them with skepticism. It's non of your business what I right. I know you get butt hurt by my words.

Moreover, I didn't say Magapolis plan was totally wrong. I merely pointed out the difficulties and some stupid media stunts that needs to addressed by the authorities.

Isn't that the dictatorship? You people are eating your own foot now.

Care to explain again what is the hate speech in Sri Lanka?
