China should stay alert to India-Vietnam cooperation

The Indian media reported on Janaury 25 that New Delhi planned to build a satellite station in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. India's earth observation satellite will provide data of China and South China Sea areas for Vietnam.

On the same day, Reuters reported that Hanoi can receive remote sensing imagery after construction of India's satellite tracking and imaging center. Chinese naval bases and movements on the Nansha Islands will be their critical focus areas.

Although the satellite station is called "civil facility," mainly used in the fields of agriculture, scientific research and environment, the images passed back can also be used for military purposes with constant advancements of technology.

Since India builds its satellite station in Vietnam, it is natural for people to assume that it is military-aligned "cooperation" between both countries.

Since 2010, the Philippines and Vietnam have continued to stir up troubles, the South China Sea disputes have fermented. Additionally, the United States and Japan have adjusted their policies to promote the "internationalization" of South China Sea disputes.

India did not wish to be neglected. Indian Prime Minister Naharendra Modi had increased investments on its navy, calling for the protection of free navigation rights of Indian boats in the South China Sea zone. By strengthening relations with surrounding countries, Modi has made Vietnam a major cooperation partner on South China Sea issues.

Over the past decade, New Delhi had continued to enhance military cooperation with Hanoi. India had provided a 100 million US dollars line of credit for Vietnam, and helped Vietnam to receive four Indian navy patrol ships.

Furthermore, India has offered submarine and warplane flying training for Vietnamese sailors to achieve modernization of national defense.

India's state-owned oil and gas company signed an agreement with Vietnam to explore offshore oil together. In 2015, India had conducted oil and gas exploration work in the disputed sea area between China and Vietnam, which violated China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Indian oil and gas company had set a bad example, and added difficulties to the settlement of South China Sea disputes and has sparked negative consequences in Sino-India relations.

In regards to New Delhi building a satellite station in Vietnam, Hua Chunying, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, said that Beijing hopes the facility can make positive contributions to regional cooperation, peace and stability. If the cooperation is aimed against China and violates China's interests, it is wrong and unwise.

The South China Sea is one of China's core interests. If India and Vietnam take the territorial dispute as a means to contend against China that is strategically dangerous and Beijing should remain on high alert.

Along with the increasing development of the Chinese navy, the protection of South China Sea rights and interests has been reinforced. Any plot or move against Beijing would be doomed to failure.

What is CPEC? Who started it? Did China took India;s permission before starting it when China was aware it is a disputed land. If CPEC is justified so is Indo-Vietnam's economic partnership too.

left on the image is Vietnam. one thing I´m very curious. can your high resolution camera on the satelittes identify objects, infrastructure or person...or what food the person takes for dinner?

:rofl:LMAO Why are we worry about such cooperation? this article doesn't represent 1.4 billions Chinese thinking, don't talk like we don't have retaliation options: If China place a satellite station in the reclaimed islands, we can monitor entire Vietnam and SCS, You Viets will cry a river again on China's next move. As for India, we can place similar station on Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan to monitor all Indian Navy's activities in Indian Ocean...Indians will cry with desperation as when we make the call on Sri Lanka port with our subs:lol:.

We don't need to get your permission regarding CPEC, you Indians can do what ever with Vietnam and we will do what we want with SA nations, I will see how Indians will swallow that when we place a similar monitor station in Sri Lanka or Pakistan:lol:.

haaaaaaaa...crying a river belongs to a political show. nothing special. it is similar to your propaganda of a peaceful rise bullshit, that nobody believes. but one thing I tell you: while you spend billions of dollar to monitor the regions, we need only friendship to India to get access to images of China and South China Sea. Thank You India :-)

No matter how big you make the island you cant defend the island properly ... few bombs will make island disappear. its nothing but a military base. Missile is sufficient to take them out.

LOL retaliations are continuing reaction for your aggressive stance to get a ss whipped  As the OP said China don't have to worry.

As per Chinese establishments They have welcomed this new move by India. As they belive this could contribute to the development of the region. :enjoy:

But say cheese :partay: every now and then. Our satellites like take some 1 M shot. For "CIVILIAN PURPOSES :enjoy:"

And am being sarcastic here :meeting:

Don't worry brother ... All sort of help will be granted to our Vietnam brothers as a quid pro quo arrangements. (Just to keep it look like some civilian stuff ;) )

Days are not far from selling frigates destroyers corvettes armed with Bramose missile systems to strengthen Security of our friends in the region. I could love to see many more Indian Vietnam defence deal other than just patrol boats. Looking forward for pinnaka rocket systems, akask Sam, bramose Barak 8, Tejas and lots of ammunition

lol, these are need to be manned.... few sq km can be wiped out with MBRL's kinda salvo...

And what make you think that these will not be manned?? We can sink all Indians navy or Vietnamese navy hundred kilometers away before you can do any harm to our "Paradise islands".

How you define aggressive stance...because of the whining from some losers? and wait until we install so call "Civilian purpose" sat station in Sri Lanka or Pakistan and we shall see how Indians will react, you just open an window for us:lol:. and don't cry a river like our subs call on SL port's event because you Indians won't have any excuse for what we copy and past from your Idea.

aircraft carrier can move, island not. learn the difference. more a static target.

There is different between static aircraft carrier and mobile aircraft carrier :D, with the massive reclaimed Islands, not only we can pack more fix wing aircraft such J-15, anti ship cruise missiles but other system such S-400, we can dominate the SCS sky beyond 400mk radius, no sub can sink it, your viets can always make a temptation to confront an PLA armed and militarized island .
