China sends first batch of humanitarian aid to flood-hit Pakistan

BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- China sent its first batch of emergency humanitarian aid to flood-hit Pakistan on Thursday, according to the Ministry of Commerce (MOC).

The relief package included 3,000 tents, part of the 30 million yuan (4.7 million U.S. dollars) in emergency humanitarian aid that China has offered to help with relief efforts in Pakistan's flood-ravaged southern regions, the ministry said in a statement on its website.

The goods were sent from China's eastern city of Nanjing on 6:30 a.m. Thursday and are expected to reach Karachi, Pakistan's capital, by Friday morning Beijing Time, it said.

China dispatches first batch of humanitarian aid to Pakistan
BEIJING, Sept 22 (APP): China has sent out its first batch of emergency humanitarian aid to Pakistan for flood relief, state media reported on Thursday.“The plane is expected to arrive at Karachi airport early tomorrow morning.” CNTV reported,It said that 3000 water proof tents have been sent to Pakistan’s flood ravaged southern region by transport plane from the Nanjing Military base area.Another batch of 4000 tents will be sent from Beijing on Saturday.

The Chinese government has pledged to provide relief assistance to Pakistan worth 30 million Yuan ( $ 4.7 million).
“The move showed the Chinese government and people’s traditional friendship with the government and people of Pakistan,” the Chinese Ministry of Commerce has said in a statement on its website.
