I never claim our athletes never cheat. It is common knowledge that all athletes will cheat if they can get away with it. In fact, when it comes to cheating, American athletes can take no spot lower than #2. Doping is big business in the USA and almost every single one of your top athletes got caught cheating. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the ENTIRE American Olympic contingent is doping. It's part of American culture.

The US has advanced masking agents and they get their intelligence agencies to cover up their doping in order to be number 1 in the Olympic medal count.

Doping is MASSIVE in EVERY American sport and culture.The US government not only approves it, but they encourage anything that keeps them number 1. They know they can't win a fair competition to save their lives.

Everyone knows the Russian 'doping' scandal is politically motivated because of Russia's independent policies in Syria and Ukraine. All these FIFA corruption investigations and sudden doping investigations are designed to target Russia. It's a witch hunt. The American gangsters want to strip Russia of the hosting of FIFA World Cup and I knew all these sudden doping investigations would be to eventually get Russia banned from the Olympics. The last minute doping scandal reports is to give Russia less time to react.

In Taiwan, baseball also popular, along with Japan and Korea. That's more because of Japan than the US itself, I think. There is still considerable Japanese cultural influence, even the culture they learned from the US.

Whether you like it or not, soccer is still the most popular sport in China. People stay up all night for Euro Cup, World Cup even if they have to go to work the next day. There are few people would do the same for NBA. So it is not up to you and me to decide. Lol, with alcohol, I'd fall asleep faster than without. But yes, I'd agree with you. This is a very old sport and as days and years passes by the game has gotten boring.
I've fallen asleep many a times during the round 16 matches or when my favorite team (Argentina) isn't playing.
I used to love this game when I was younger, I don't love it much anymore. Not even watching it, let along playing. I prefer to watch diving and weight lifting.

I think the problem is football (soccer) doesn't penalize people for f-ups. In basketball if you are not watching what you are doing and the other team steals the ball from you there is a pretty good chance they are going to run the court and score. In baseball or American football if you drop the ball the other team is probably going to score. In fact they even track how many time people screw up (turnovers, errors, fumbles) to give people an incentive to be on guard, concentrate, and play their best. In tennis you screwup the other guy gets a point. You miss one shot in golf you may lose.

In soccer if you loose the ball to the other player nobody seems bothered...probably because they will probably loose the ball themselves within 15 seconds. They don't flash a stat on a board saying that's the 20th time in the game he's let that happen. No urgency that the other team may score.

If they want to make the game more interesting they should play without a goalkeeper. People will play more professionally because if they screwup the other team can score more easily.

Well I never said baseball was super exciting. But it is about who can f-up the least. The pitcher is expected to generate 3 outs per inning. It's not like he can casually allow people on base without much worry...every screwup is a potential liability.

You also cannot f-up in soccer too, depending on your position and the severity of your cock up, you would mostly concede a goal if the goal keeper or the defender f-up.

Soccer is more about strategy and baseball is more about tactics, in soccer, a lot of element are considered to build a single play, things like player position, defence composition, advantage, even the stupid sun can all be contribute to that single play that may or may not score, but baseball is a lot more direct, it always about the batter and/or the runner, how and where the batter hit the ball, and how the runner steal a base.

Both soccer and baseball don't really allowed cocked up, just that in soccer, you have some degree of open chance to fix your f-up, in baseball, you still can fix it, but more likely than not, you don't.
