BEIJING: Chinese foreign ministry on Wednesday cited ‘lack of consensus’ to enforce UN-led ban on Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar.

The US had moved a proposal backing India’s application to have JeM chief included in a UN list of designated terrorists. China blocked the move earlier this month.

Responding to questions on the issue, foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang said conditions had not been met and consensus had not been forged for China to back the move.

China’s decision is in line with resolutions of the UN Security Council and Beijing was following procedures, he added.

India got what it wanted, china can calm down now.

Sooner or later we will see either china stop vetoing or reforms in UN ,both is a win win condition for india..so india just have to keep arising this matter in un either by self or by usa ,france ,britain..as much china will veto it ,more others will acknowledge the misuse of veto power and less they will hesistate for reforms to simply blunt the edge china has ..:)
Good politics by india ,china is stuck as its an image issue for him now ,if massod get banned it will deteriorates china image badly..and if not UN reforms will come much sooner then expected..lol chinese..

The latest move to designate him a terrorist was led by the UK and France and not India so......

China's propoganda machine can spout what they like.
