QINGDAO, July 20 (Xinhua) -- China's new high-speed maglev train rolled off the production line on Tuesday. It has a designed top speed of 600 km per hour -- currently the fastest ground vehicle available globally.

The new maglev transportation system made its public debut in the coastal city of Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province.

It has been self-developed by China, marking the country's latest scientific and technological achievement in the field of rail transit, according to the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation.

How great it would be to travel on a train, travelling at 450km's, from Karachi all the way to London (an interconnect network of rail system throughout Asia and Europe).......the 8000 km's could well be travelled in 18 hours of travel time + stopovers and transits. Basically, one can tour many countries in Asia and Europe if this ever happens, just on a train!

Me and my family immensely enjoyed our train travel all over Europe even though it was costly as compared to air travel, but the pleasure of relaxing in those grand comfortable seats with the gadgets (laptops, ipads etc.) getting power and internet from the train (power sockets were widely available next to all seats), the large tray tables, the majestic scenery etc. it was just amazing and extremely comfortable and relaxing.
