China renames 6 places in Arunachal, takes its claim over state to whole new level

We can bankrupt them the same way US bankrupted the Soviet Union.

Have you forget the recent economic crisis of 2008 ? Even during that time Republic of India, Republic of Turkey, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Japan have stand together with United States of America.

I know you cannot understand. Siddhartha Gautama was born in Nepal. But he left that life and obtained Enlightenment thus transforming to Buddha. Hence I said 'Buddha was born in India'.

During that Era , the whole territories even beyond River Brahmaputra were part of Aryans of Indus Valley Civilization.

Delhi: Hitting back at China, India on Wednesday said that renaming or inventing a name did not make illegally held territory legal.

"Arunachal is an integral part of India," Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Gopal Baglay emphasised.

China had yesterday announced that it had 'standardised' official names for six places in Arunachal Pradesh and had termed the provocative move as a 'legitimate action'.

Their move had come days after Beijing had lodged strong protests with India over the Dalai Lama's visit to the frontier state.

The state media in Beijing had said that the move was aimed at reaffirming China's claim over Arunachal Pradesh.

China claims the state as 'South Tibet'.

"China's Ministry of Civil Affairs announced on April 14 that it had standardised in Chinese characters, Tibetan and Roman alphabet the names of six places in 'South Tibet', which India calls 'Arunachal Pradesh', in accordance with the regulations of the central government," state-run Global Times had reported.

The official names of the six places using the Roman alphabet are Wo'gyainling, Mila Ri, Qoidengarbo Ri, Mainquka, Bumo La and Namkapub Ri.

"These names reflect China's territorial claim over South Tibet (Arunachal Pradesh) is supported by clear evidence in terms of history, culture and administration," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang had told reporters, as per PTI.

Defending the action to standardise the names, Lu had said, "to issue these names is actually carried out in accordance with the regulations about the names of the localities and it is a legitimate action by the Chinese government".

"Let me stress that about the Indian government's indulgence of (the) Dalai Lama activities in disputed eastern section of the India-China boundary and also about his anti- China activities, this is something we are firmly against. These activities are also against the Indian government's commitments to China," Lu had added when asked about the significance of standardisation of names.

Asked why it took China so long to standardise the names and whether the sudden move was in retaliation to the Dalai Lama's recent visit to Arunachal Pradesh, he had further said that China chose this time to announce the standardisation as it was now doing a second census of names of localities and an important part of it was to standardise names in ethnic languages.

"In the next step, we will also step up our study of those names in Tibetan ethnic languages and in the next step we will announce more standardisation of these names," he had gone on to say said.

Reiterating that China's claims over the east section of India-China boundary in Arunachal Pradesh were clear and consistent, Lu had said, "these names have been passed on from generation to generation by people who have lived there for generations, the Tibetan ethnic and Monpa ethnic groups. It is also an example that shows China has clear administration over these areas and there are many activities by the Chinese people in that area."

China's move had come just days after the Dalai Lama's visit to Arunachal Pradesh, which was seventh since the 81-year-old spiritual leader fled from Tibet through Tawang and sought refuge in India.

During the Dalai Lama's Arunachal Pradesh visit, China had warned India that it will take "necessary measures" to defend its territorial sovereignty and interests.

The India-China border dispute covers the 3,488 km-long Line of Actual Control (LAC). While China claims Arunachal Pradesh as South Tibet, India asserts that the dispute covers Aksai Chin area which was occupied by China during the 1962 war.

The two sides have so far held 19 rounds of Special Representatives talks to resolve the boundary dispute.

The government dismissed China’s claim clearly on Thursday, with Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu accusing Beijing of trying to “get some sort of publicity” from the notice on renaming towns.

“We are an independent country, we are a sovereign country, Arunachal Pradesh is totally part and parcel of India and every inch of Arunachal’s land belongs to India. China has no business to name any of the districts,” Mr. Naidu said at a press conference on Thursday.

“This is definitely an upping of the ante by China,” said expert Alka Acharya, cautioning, “We will have to watch closely where this decision to announce new names would lead next.”

When asked if the growing Chinese reactions on Arunachal Pradesh would have an impact on border talks between the two neighbouring countries, the MEA spokesperson said, “There is an established boundary mechanism that has made some progress. And we would expect that the boundary question would be addressed in a mutual and honourable manner.”

Next round of talks
The next round of boundary talks between Chinese State Councillor Yang Jiechi and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval is expected to take place later this year in Delhi, and Mr. Doval is expected to attend the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) group’s NSA-level meeting to be held in Beijing in July.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will attend the BRICS ministerial meeting before that in June.

Mr. Baglay added that China had not officially conveyed any decision on the ‘renaming’ to the Indian embassy or the MEA.

Wang Qi was illegally detained in India and prevented from leaving for 50+ years and you have the temerity to say that he wanted to stay in India. This incident really showcase the pettiness of the Indians in contrast to the generosity shown by the Chinese towards Indian POWs after the 1962 war.

Please type in coherent English so I can understand what you are trying to say. In all likelihood, it will be still be gibberish but correct grammar will assist me in understand what tripe you are typing this time.
Funny, I can understand clearly what he wrote. You have comprehension problem, NO? Its a pity you are only able to understand your master's Queen's English. Srry I only write in Singlish.

i wonder why you want horse, can't you walk

The indigenous breeds of horses/ponies include Marwari, Kathiawari, Manipuri, Spiti, Bhutia and Zanskari. Among these, Marwari and Kathiawari are considered as 2 distinct breeds or types although they have several characteristics in common.Kathiawar (Gujarat) and Rajasthan are the homes of Kathiawari and Marwari breeds, respectively.

http://www.tribuneindia.com/news/himachal/crime/rs-30-lakh-seized-from-tibetan-monks/192885.html

Police today seized about Rs 30 lakh unaccounted money in various currencies from four Tibetan monks on the Mehatpur inter-state barrier near here. It includes Rs 25.40 lakh in Indian currency, 40,420 yuans and $16.

The four occupants of the vehicle, reportedly affiliated to Tibetan monasteries and organisations in Dharamsala, are Hu Tuk Tuk Kirti Lobsang (74), a supreme head of a Tibetan organisation, Tsundu (46), of the Kirti monastery in McLeodganj, Sherab Tashi (45) affiliated to the Kirti Monastic Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies, and vehicle driver Kunhok Top (47), from a Tibetan children’s organisation.

Transfer and stashing of huge amounts of unaccounted money had been reported at the Tibetan organisations in Dharamsala and other parts of the country. The police believe that the money is meant for a monastery in McLeodganj on the outskirts of Dharamsala town, some 250 km from here.

Of course you can understand what he wrote. It must be a direct transliteration from Chinese. To the English speaking world it would still be gibberish. No, I don't understand only English but when I type in any language I don't type transliterations. All of this must be difficult to comprehend.

Your countrymen are saying that Indians troops were about to counter attack, which caused Mao to retreat. That is not true.

But the fact that US troops were about to land in India could be the reason as US troops would permanently be stationed in India.

Also, all leaders since Nehru take defensive posture against China. No Indian leaders ever think about going offensive against China. So if Nehru is a pussy, all other leaders are even bigger pussies as at least Nehru implemented the forward policy, no other leaders even dare to try such policy since. Most were even afraid to invest in infrastructures along the border.

You should better aviod such language and understand one thing that real war means lives of millions of citizens at stake. Republic of India military planners were well aware about Chinese nuclear programme and Ballistic missile programme before the 1962 war . War in Vietnam was already going on and Prime Minister Nehru did his best to avoid war in Vietnam too.

Limited numbers of DF-1 were produced in the 1960s, Deployment of the conventionally armed DF-1 ballistic missile, the domestically produced Chinese version of the SS-2, occurred in the 1960s

Thanks for the info on Chinese missile program. Is this why India lost? I heard many excuses before but this one is new.

Actually Chinese embassy was not that far. He got married and the reason being. He wasn't a POW tbh. He was sort of a defector according to China. He strayed into Indian territory. And Speaking of generosity we send back 90K pow;s of our arch rival Pakistan. You think we were so desperate to keep him there? He has a family now 'while in prison'.

Funny, I can understand clearly what he wrote. You have comprehension problem, NO? Its a pity you are only able to understand your master's Queen's English. Srry I only write in Singlish.
Rich coming from a former colony of Britain.

The Chinese have to appear to having reacted to such an audacious move by India , else how will they face their domestic audience .

After considering major options like asking Pakistan with N arms and BM , providing them with N tipped BM subs , N reactors , sanctioning India , Curtailing water flow to India , vetoing M Azhar , vetoing our NSG membership , the Chinese came out with the joker in the pack.

Audacious move? more likely a India CPEC's sleepless move . When a nation got its names renamed by other nation, only the world know who is became a laugh stock:lol:

Sure, the Chinese were searching high and low while Wang Qi is roaming FREE inside an Indian prison cell for 7 years. Thereafter he was restricted to a remote village until the BBC highlighted his predicament. The Indian government should have the courtesy to inform the Chinese that they have imprisoned one of their nationals. Isn't that the way international relations work? Maybe you expect the Chinese to search for all their missing persons in India. That could number in the hundreds of thousands.
I didn't know Singapore became communist, please quote your source. You assume too much. Maybe use more of your brain when reading imperfect English will help, considering it is not the 1st language of Chinese posters. Very discourteous of you to pick on them considering their efforts to conduct meaningful discourse with you in a language that you acquire from your masters, when you run out of arguments.
