You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. These waters are glacial melt water, they are freezing in the middle of summer. Furthermore, it can be clearly seen from the attire of both parties that it is reasonably cold there, at night it would have been worse. Would not have mattered what temperature water they would have gotten dunked in, come night time they would have frozen to death. Exactly how it happened. They would have frozen during the day too.
