I actually agree. Political stability is much stronger in America than it is in China.
Even despite all the recent events. The American government is not going to collapse and be replaced with another form of government, when they can vote each other out every four years.
But political changes in China (even to the point of an all-out revolution), are extremely unlikely to change the attitude of the Chinese government towards Pakistan. China and Pakistan are all-weather friends, and this will survive any change in Government.
In America on the other hand, the US administration is accusing Pakistan of being complicit in the Haqqani attack on the American embassy. And this is certainly not the first accusation that has been made, just the most recent one. Also, polls show that the Pakistani people and the American people, have no great affection for the opposite country.
A very good post, thank you.
My point was that if the circumstances are manipulated that it becomes a choice between its own economic prosperity and Pakistan, guess who will take the back seat from a Chinese point of view?
