Unfortunately if you dont get into the top university, your career might not take off. This is not only a problem in China but in the west too, infact it's a universal problem. What happens to those that fail to get in? we as a society fail them.

Thosefailed to get into Peking University and Tsinghua University like me still have the chance to go to other Universities like My University East China normal Unviersity(Ranked 27th among all Chinese univeristies).

China's college admission rate in recent years

From 69% in 2010（6.57 millions admitted), it rose to 74.46%(7 millions admitted).
That is to say, out of 100 Chinese candidates, 74.46 people will have the opportunity to go to universities and colleges to study further, and the remaining 25 (with very low test scores) will choose by them own to learn skills(car repair, computer typing, haircut, electric car repair, car beauty, engineering vehicle driving, house renovation, etc.), or go directly to the factory to participate in training and work by their choice to Beijing or to Shanghai.

But as I said,entering famous universities (Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Fudan University, University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, etc. 985 Project Universities and 211 Project Universities, etc.), the competition is still very intense.

Harvard University recruits only one person from China each year (the number of admissions to Harvard University in China is 0 in 2018) (China's total candidates are 9.75 million). Think about it, how hard is it to get into Harvard University from China?

In recent years, many American universities have begun to recognize China's college entrance examination scores, because they found that Chinese candidates with high scores in college entrance examinations performed better after entering college.
In the past, many Chinese candidates who applied for foreign universities were not allowed to enter a good university in China because they did not have high scores in college entrance examinations in China.

If you can't get a high score in college entrance examinations in China, this can at least explain one thing: maybe you are still very smart, but you can't keep a constant attention and seriousness about one something. This requirement is indispensable for scientific research and development. Einstein and Newton are not born.

Jack MA once said that although Hangzhou Normal University is not a famous university in China, it is indeed the best Chinese university in his heart, because Hangzhou Normal University gave him the opportunity to realize his dreams.

For poor people,the best way to be sucessful is to enter into university.
How you plan to be entrepreneur if your family earn only 3000 USD or 5000USD per year ?
Easy to say than to do.

My parents earn 9000 USD per year currently (7000 USD several years ago)as my parents can do nothing but hard work in construction site and they spent almost all their money to pay my education fees and Now with a PHD and hard work attitude, I earn 5 5000 USD per year, I am not saying I am very sucessful but I earn almost 6 times more than my parents do (My wife earns 15000 USD pear year with her bachelor degree).

I used to apply education loan from BANK of CHINA and chinese gov allowances ,and I repaid them in full after one year of my graduation and still some money left.

Education is the best gift parents can give to their children.
And this works both in CHINA and in western countries.

I will force my children to wear positioning watch at least before his third year of junior high school.and starting from kidgraden 3 years old to 15 years old.
This is not negociable for my son.I do not think a 5 years old or 10 years old child can resist bad guys or can control them very well to resist the web bar club along the streets.

Should state look after everything in a common man's life? What happens when AI gets more advanced? What if an AI which can accurately tell what kind of job is suitable for you. Will Chinese govt let that AI system decide your job? What if an AI can detect your possibility of committing a crime by running a process through your behaviourial pattern data and genes. Will Chinese govt let that AI to detect potential criminals and arrest them before they can commit a crime? I mean there are good points from it. Less crimes will be committed.

To your surprise may be but CHINESE laws stated clearly that Do not take care of your elderly parents is a crime in feeling and in money!
And this demand from CHINA is 100 % supported by chinese parents,they do not need to buy individual positioning device any more for their children. but could log in to certain APP to check where their children are ,more convient.

In India, among college students, it is not uncommon to have suicides.

A similar tracking/tagging system exists in India too. My brother used to work for a company that supplied such systems to schools. The parents would get a SMS saying that their child has entered school.

I think such systems are not good, especially the face tracking thing which searches for bored expressions or interested expressions in the classroom.

Regarding safety from outsiders/criminals, it is a good move.
I would be a liberal parent(when I'm one) , so I won't really care what he does with his friends. Mixed opinions about this one.
