as a policy china didn't give cash loans/assistence ..
the loan is a cradit line to buy meterial from chines companies to menufecture roads, bridges, water supply schemes and also for irrigation and power.....with a condition that only chinese farms will exicute the project with chinese workers working on it...

even the food consume by the workers came from china in frozzen packets and these workers are from chinese jails..

your PM's promises of aid in its African trip even worse, and your promise per se is questionable.

anyway , chines follow the same cradit policy on your country too , and you has been engaged with them for long , what benifit it bring to your country in terms of employment and local menufecturing industry ?

Secondly, the contracting firms, the subcontractors and even labourers involved in Sri Lanka's major projects are Chinese nationals, he says. (There have even been reports that the Chinese firms have brought in convicts from China to carry out the work.)

“The rates offered by China are higher than those offered by the World Bank, and direct government loans from Japan," Mr. Sirimanne says.

Wow. this is just shocking. Indians are complaining about Chinese Loaning out 1.5 billion dollars to Sri Lanka with . Have you even seen the conditions indians put on the 1 billion dollar we (bangladesh)received? Compared to the conditions they put on that loan, this is literally peanuts. This is hypocrisy to another level. I think I just lost the bit of respect I had left for India.

“Negotiations continue with China for several unpaid bills for arms purchased during the protracted ... insurgency. While China is offering to bail out collapsing European economies, it won't simply write off these loans from Sri Lanka as a bad debt.”
