NEW DELHI: While Chinese Premier Li Keqiang came across as loquacious and jovial in his interaction with Indian leaders - a far cry from several other Chinese leaders who have visited here in the past - he also won hearts with his knowledge of India.

Li had his Indian interlocutors in splits when he told them how he had loved watching Bollywood movie 3 Idiots. Unlike in Japan, Bollywood movies have only recently started to attract eyeballs in China. The Chinese leader said that his daughter was so impressed with the movie that she made him watch it. His daughter, according to his profile on BBC, is reported to be studying in the US.

Li also spoke about Steve Jobs' biography and the Apple co-founder's experiences in the country in his salad days. The Chinese Premier spoke about how Jobs had travelled to India in search of enlightenment. Jobs, though, had few flattering things to say about India describing his India adventure as disturbing. Li is visiting the TCS office in Mumbai on Tuesday.

While Li had travelled to India in the 80s as the chief of a youth delegation — when he got a chance to visit the Taj Mahal - his interest in India was rekindled after he rose to become the governor of Henan province. The province is home to the oldest Buddhist temple - called the Baima or White Horse temple — in China. This is where he developed some interest in Indian culture and heritage.

Earlier in the day, in what is his first visit abroad as the Chinese Premier, Li seemed at home during the official reception at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Neither the searing Delhi heat nor the tedious ceremony seemed to mar his enthusiasm as he addressed the media there. With PM Manmohan Singh waiting by his side, he spoke for over 10 minutes about relations between the two countries. Not for Li the routine couple of sentences from a visiting dignitary at the event. At the end of it all, he also enquired from media professionals whether or not what he had said was going to make it to the front page of Indian newspapers. Much to the amusement of Indian journalists, he also promised to ensure ``banner headlines'' for Singh when the Indian PM visits China later this year.

i think in the leadership of premier li sino-indo relationship will get deeper.
i personally favor a unity in asia at any cost.

I should try to watch that movie.

When you do watch it for the theme behind the movie.

All of us go through our lives doing what is expected of us & not what we'd like to do or have the potential for.

Watch it & so many memories shall come back of how we made choices because either our parents wanted us to become a Doctor or Engineer , we memorised things without understanding them or applying them.

It helps you be a sensitized parent who realises that marks alone do not make a man.

Watch it with an open mind - separate the chaff from the grain & you will enjoy the move. Remember its a commercial venture hence some spice had to be added to make it sell.
