China plans national, unified CPU architecture

LOL anytime you want to match wits regarding IT then im up for it.

So tell me Mr Big Brain, why do you think China would want to move from x86?

To break the intel-amd-via monopoly, duh.

do you have a PhD degree from a top uni major in computer science? how many US patents you have? how many tier 1 publications you have? ever worked in a R&D department in companies like apple, ms, google? no? then tell me why should I assume you are operating in the same leve?

IT? what do you mean by IT? java coding or cisco router configuration? or maybe linux kernel hacking?

now Mr. Big Brain whose IQ is 146 is going to tell you why Chinese want to "move from x86": because the x86 business is surrounded by numerous patents, you can't get into the game if you don't have enough patents in the relevant field to help you end up with a cross licensing agreement. plus, the timing is right, the rise of ARM and Android shows some potential in this area.

China is not australia, people don't just dig up rocks and export them, and CCP is not your labor loser who only talk but never work. I can confirm to you that there are PPC/MIPS/X86/ARM clones being built by over a dozen companies. It is never about "move from x86", it is about the fact that if Chinese can master this tech, they will not pay you to use the tech.

ROFL for somebody who is a self appointed genius you sure have a hard time sticking to topic and distinguishing the the difference between an OS and ISA. Or the current IP revolved around ARM and Android. Maybe take that IQ test again and not use crayons this time.
x86 is here to stay for the immediate future, its the global architecture that runs the worlds computer software and hardware market. Its not to say that other ISA's are a bad thing, but its not designed to be the power user like x86 is, well unless of course you are going to stack them upon thousands of times like some super computer's do. But thats a different story and its not the purpose of what the Chinese are doing here.
If you look at the reason in the article "The primary reason for this move is to lessen China’s reliance on western intellectual property." That could mean anything, to stop Chinese companies using Windows? To have the ability to implement and control software and hardware manufacturing? To monitor peoples activities? Combine all the factors with China's monopoly of rare Earth and all of a sudden its not a question of necessity but protectionism. Good luck to you China, but your new ISA wont be anything to write home about, China is just too far behind the fabrication process to make any world beating designs

Lessen reliance on western IP means not paying royalties and patent license fees. That's it. Stop thinking too hard. When you overcomplicate things it doesn't help anyone and you trap yourself in a web of lies and deception to fit your own reality.
