China one time zone

Why does China continue to use only 1 time zone UTC +8. This is a major problem for Chinese citizens living in western parts of China who don't see sun rise until hours after it has reached eastern provinces of China. It causes work conflicts, day-time, night-time conflicts, etc. China should have at least 3 time zones in accordance with 15 degree longitude rule. Western China time, Central China time, and Eastern China time. China is roughly over 3,000 miles wide about as much as the US and the US mainland has 4 time zones, other time zones are given to Alaska and Hawaii.

Looking to hear from Chinese members on their opinion.

A country not strictly following geographic time zone is not really that much a surprise. For example, France and Netherland are also not using their geographic time zone, this is because they are situated at the western part of the European and they want to synchronize their time with the rest of Europe. The same consideration is taken by China.
Remember, PRC is founded in 1949. By this time, telecommunication and electric light are already widespread. This means a need for greater time synchronization between different parts of the nation so businesses are working at the same time. Electric light means with exception of farmers (who can easily keep their own schedule), all business can continue regardless sunlight.
I will not be surprised that India is using a single time zone under the same reasoning.

Agreed. I wish the whole world could just use one time zone, say Greenwich time. That way we'll always have the same schedule instead of having to calculate all the time. But, that's impossible I know...

There is a limit on using the same time zone. 2 to 3 hours are not bad, but 6+ hours will be too much.

We should have several time zones for sure. That should be an issue to solve quickly.

China tried implementing different time zones, albeit it was day light saving mid to late last century but it failed.
