i am not insane, i am just expressing what i look around. Because its natural since US military is largest so people think that they can conquer anything they want.

Very correct. we wont even dare attack little north Korea, forget China. The thing is no country will ever go to a full scale war with a nuclear armed country, full stop. All talk of war is just fanboys wishful thinking. lol

Coming to topic, just like one of my vietnamese friends said earlier on another threadon here, the heydays of the PLA are long gone, today they care more about buying houses in the U.S,embezzling public money, having mistresses and enjoying their luxury lifestyle. They are not used to hardship/tough life like their predecessors, who fought several bloody battles from second world war against Japan(who suffered over half of its total casualities in China), Chinese civil war, to Korea,to Vietnam war against the U.S to conflict with Vietnam, to victory against India, and soviet border standoffs etc.

Today we can say they are just spoiled single child brats.lool

But then again, no big country will ever attack China(apart from maybe little skirmishes with smaller countries in the neighbourhood), so they dont have much to worry, prepared or not.

A paper wouldn't have been necessary. China isn't transparent but it would have been a good guess that they (PLA) lack sufficient training with their new gear, same said for all militarizes that are on purchasing spree.
PLA back in the day and to some extent today is not a shooting army.
PLAAF just got these Flankers a decade or so ago. Still don't utilize it to the max unlike the fully equipped MKI that take off with almost full payload. PLAAF still uses flankers to dive bomb!
They are starting to spend more time on training and money. But with the lack of inter-cross training, how does the PLA know how their training stacks up?
Keep in mind that it is also a conscription army, the PLA life is cradle to grave care. Young educated children that unlike the old days, don't run with nationalism just Hanism.
That being said, doesn't mean the higher ups don't know what the bigger picture is even though the officers are not as competent as their counter parts across the globe.
The PLA is artillery army. They can move and support large artillery firepower within their border. Who needs the best shooters.

The key word in the article is that China does not want the "Peace disease" spread into it military. It is a legitimate concern, that the military should be martial in thought and training for real conflicts. Which is the main role of any military; to think permanently about war and train for any possibility.

Beijing: Weaknesses in China`s military training pose a threat to the country`s ability to fight and win a war, China`s official military newspaper said on Sunday.

China`s military authority has sent a document to military units detailing 40 weaknesses in current training People`s Liberation Army methods, the (PLA) Daily said in a front-page story.

"These problems reflect shortcomings and weak-points in the makeup of our military fighting force. If they are not promptly dealt with, then they will certainly affect and hinder our army`s ability to go to war," the paper said, citing the PLA general staff headquarters.

President Xi Jinping has been pushing to strengthen the fighting ability of China`s 2.3 million-strong armed forces, the world`s largest, and stepping up efforts to modernize forces that are projecting power across disputed waters in the East and South China Seas.

The country`s armed forces came under fire earlier this year from serving and retired Chinese officers and state media who questioned whether the force was too corrupt to win a war.

The military newspaper said China needed to find a cure for the "peace disease" affecting its training regime to ensure the armed forces could master the ability to win a real conflict.

Military authorities identified issues for the country`s army, navy and air force, including training standards and styles by commanders and military units. The problems were identified through supervision of drills, including joint exercises with foreign armed forces, the PLA Daily said.
