China & Kuwait celebrate 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties
A reception was held in Beijing on Tuesday to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of China-Kuwait diplomatic ties.
Kuwaiti Ambassador Mohammad Saleh Althuwaikh said the two nations have enjoyed fruitful cooperation in the past 40 years in politics, economy, trade, investment and culture.
Kuwait has always adhered to the one-China policy and has supported China's efforts to safeguard national reunification and territorial integrity, he said.
The ambassador said his country was ready to further push forward relations with China.
Echoing the ambassador's comments, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang said he also hoped the two nations would lift bilateral cooperation to a new level.
Statistics show that the bilateral trade volume reached 8.54 billion U.S. dollars last year, up 68 percent year-on-year.
