Late on December 16th, Lei Jun, the turning 45-years old founder of Xiaomi, said he received the best birthday gift - Indian Delhi high court made its decision, which allows Xiaomi sell mobile phone again in India.:hitwall:

"Patent war is the adult ceremony for Xiaomi", Lei Jun talked about the patent problems on internationalization of Xiaomi in an interview on December 17th. But the cancel of ban on Xiaomi in India was just the beginning of patent war. On this issue, Lei Jun said that it might last 5 to 10 years. While standing on the "adult ceremony" of Xiaomi, there is more to deal with besides the patent problems, because outsiders are doubtful about the profits behind its heavy investments.

But Lei Jun was not worried about this. He told the reporters that Xiaomi set a goal which wouldn’t pursue short-term profits in the next few years, "a draw would be nice", and will continue to "adhere to the original road". He thought that Xiaomi’s strategies were "to be restrained, focused and promote steadily", the user loyalty and words of mouth were most important and Xiaomi was very competitive in this.

In addition, he said that Xiaomi had no profit target, and wouldn’t consider IPO in the next five years(capitalism with Chinese character?:enjoy: we are not out to make profits。we are out to crush competitors by bringing down the profit margin to razor thin.

He told the reporters that Xiaomi is expected to apply for 1300 invention patents in 2015, of which 300 are international ones. "Xiaomi is relatively calm about the patent problem, but the similar patent disputes will continue for 5-10 years." As Lei Jun sees it, Xiaomi has greater challenges than patent issues- privacy of the users. In Taiwan, Hongkong, Singapore and other places, privacy issues almost brought a crisis to Xiaomi.

Expecting to see all major countries adopting similar policies with regard to Chinese products.

All communist countries are control-freaks, they might open up for some time, then the basic tendency gets back.
Says indiA getting raped by France and russia with nothing to show I wish china shuts out india so the west fucks their poor some more sometimes the ccp is slow

1. That was off-topic.

2. That was abusive.

3. India won't ever buy the stuff from China that they buy from Russia and France. So there is nothing to shut out.

4. China also buy those stuff from Russia.

Now stay on the topic.

Good to see this development. China primary motivation for indigenization is because foreign, particularly US tech, has proven itself to be deeply sinister and untrustworthy. The NSA practices cyber-spying and cyber aggression with a shocking appetite, and worse still, has recruited "private-sector" tech companies like Google and Facebook to abet them in their atrociously unethical and illegal deeds.

If it so happens that Chinese tech companies stand to gain by ridding themselves of unethical, rule-breaking, monopolistic competitors, then that's merely the cherry on top. That's the consequence of abusing other people's trust.

.
It is not just China, besides. Every country desires complete indigenization. Some achieves it or are on the way to achieve, others seek solace by criticizing and mud slinging those who have achieved it. It is a matter of efficiency. Inefficient people are the most sour. I symphatize with them, however.

Would I call it a mixture of Confucianism and Communism ? Simple Communism only emerged in earlier times when CCP was found, the political system is mixed with more Confucianism now.
Maybe somedays or under some conditions,we need replace Communism with Taoism,Mohism or Legalism...etc.(e.g. Taoism was often promoted after wars to reduce tax, give more freedom, etc.)
Why PRC doesn't give up Communism out of its negative impression by many media and contries? We have many traditional --ism that have another way to get concentrated power. Why not only emphasize Communism?

Hopefully transition to homegrown suppliers will be faster. No need of weasel talk-USA is enemy of China. If ever USA has an opportunity to bring China down, create troubles and chaos inside country and start wide spread color revolution-USA will use the opportunity .Any and all of USA corporations are building backdoors in their products and without hesitation provide access codes to USA secret services.Transition will be win-win process.China goverment branches will be much more secure, local companies will receive investments, orders AND the likes of IBM/HP/Cisco/Microsoft etc will be hit hard. They will be out of goverment orders, will have reduced market share and reduced profits.

basically come and build in China with a ToT or we'll steal your IP by espionage and then kick you out and replace it with homegrown companies, lol.

oh well. the a few in the West got rich off the cheap labour and we got cheap goods. well played. the ride couldn't go on forever.

LOOOL So you thought its only the U.S that uses their tech companies to spy on others?
All countries in this world spy on each other my man....huh, well those that have the capabilities though. it just so happens that the U.S has much more advanced capabilities to do this than all the next top 20 countries combined, reason why others get uneasy about that.:D

aahahahha........well said bro. But then again, you cant blame them that much, since nothing is free in this world. The U.S itself isn't really a saint to just transfer its tech for free, they made good bsuiness/reaped some huge profits from the Chinese as well with their software/tech companies.:enjoy: Every country does what is in its best interests, including the U.S banning Huawei/ZTE etc. :D:usflag:

Not gonna happen . In wake of edward snowdens revelations most sensible countries will back away from us companies . I say leave windows . Go open source .

The faster we replace foreign technology in sensitive industry, the better we would be. I can't wait for that day to come. NSA is scary.
Totally agree with u . I hope the govt in pakistan should go open source and avoid 2nd rated equipment from the land of nsa
