Even if that is true, modern tech should be rather utilized to stabilize domestic food security instead of the export market. The present food price is not acceptable to majority of the population and the food market is too volatile to play with. We need the proper balance between the farmers' profitability and larger consumer population. Self sufficiency in food is not an easy thing to implement for a huge population which we have.

1st shipment of Pakistani mangoes lands in Kunming​

BEIJING (APP): The first shipment of Pakistani mangoes of the present season arrived last night in Kunming, capital city of China’s South-Western Yunnan province, said Adnan Hafeez, Director of Imperial Ventures (Pvt) Ltd.

The shipment comprising 2.3 tons of “Sindhri” variety was transported via air cargo from Pakistan to China, he told APP here on Sunday.

The Pakistani “king of fruits” will be sold in the market after custom clearance and necessary certifications by the relevant Chinese authorities, he added.

Adnan said that quality control is the keyword of this year’s mango export. This time, half of mango will be sent to Chinese wholesalers and retailers as samples.
“We have already got connected with some big supermarkets and e-commerce platforms in China, including Walmart, JD.com and FreshHema.

“The Farm’s Choic’ an indigenous premium fruit brand operation by Imperial Ventures Private Limited has been extensively working on promotion and marketing of Pakistani Mango in China since last six years and has seen positive growth trend.

He said, this year, the expected export of mangoes from Pakistan to China is set to touch 100 tons which is almost 100% increase from last year but the recent wave of Covid-19 pandemic in China could affect the outcome.

“Considering China;s large population, I believe that China will be one of the largest markets for Pakistan’s mango in the coming five to ten years. I will work continuously to explore the Chinese market,” he added.

Adnan looks forward to all relevant departments to provide close coordination and all possible support to increase export of mango to China

To a question, he said that many Chinese people prefer mangoes imported from South Asian counties especially Pakistan because of its pulp and taste.

The Chinese consumers have also an emotional attachment to the Pakistani products including mangoes in wake of the all-weather friendship between Pakistan and China, he added.

China helps Pakistan increase its grain production, and Pakistan exports all its surplus qualified grain to China. This is good for both sides. There is no doubt that China needs a long-term stable grain exporter.

As many as 1.7 million hunting trophies have been traded between nations between 2004 and 2014. And at least 200,000 trophies from threatened taxa, or an average of 20,0000 trophies per year, have been traded between nations in the same period. Our research found that 107 different nations (comprised of 104 importing nations and 106 exporting nations) participated in trophy hunting trade between 2004 and 2014. However, although there is worldwide demand for animal trophies, according to the CITES database, the top twenty countries are responsible for 97 percent of trophy imports.

The United States (US) accounts for 71 percent of the import demand, or about 15 times more than the next highest nations, Germany and Spain (both 5 percent). These top 20 importing countries are killing and importing their trophies mainly from Canada (35 percent), South Africa (23 percent), and Namibia (11 percent). The most common trade of threatened taxa trophies come from Canada to the US, followed by trophy trade from African nations to the US.

Almost all countries restrict importing agriculture products, yet almost all countries want to export them. Looks at fights between USA and Japan and Taiwan for US beef exporting. Look at Japan aggressively push other countries to accept it's agriculture yet reluctantly import agriculture products.

China is eager to import meat, potatoes, onions, mangoes and cherries from Pakistan and in this regard, Chinese experts will visit quarantine facilities of the country in February this year, said Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing.

In a meeting with Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, he said that China wanted to build stronger socio-economic ties with Pakistan and enhance its imports from Islamabad as well.

“China has a great demand for meat and poultry products and it can be a lucrative international market for Pakistan,” he stressed. “Both countries must work together for the removal of technical barriers like sanitary and phyto-sanitary (SPS) and quarantine requirements.”

The Chinese ambassador expressed confidence in Bakhtiar as former minister for planning and development because of his contribution to the expansion of phase-II of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

They eat all types of meats so it can be a huge export potential. Already China is cooperating with Pakistan for the export of Red Chillies. It's another huge export potential. The Pakistani exporter needs to provide quality otherwise its not going to happen.

It’s truly terrifying what Chinese greed has done to global biodiversity. The amount of culling they have done in the name of “Chinese medicine”, “Chinese delicacy” or “furniture” is just obscene.

You now have killing fields of elephants in Eastern Africa because of Chinese funded poachers. Salt licks laced with cyanide leading to entirely systems collapse.

Rhinos are near extinct. Pangolins are nearing the same fate. Sun bears kept in tiny cages for the entirety of their lives —- cut open daily to extract bile etc etc. it’s beyond irresponsible and cruel.

If there are Chinese posters reading this, please note that rhino horn does not boost your performance in bed. Work on ending wildlife trade.
