China home to 1/3 of world's tallest buildings

China is now home to one-third of the 100 tallest buildings in the world, with more on the way as the country’s skyscraper boom shows little sign of slowing.

For the next three years, an average of one skyscraper will be completed every five days, according to Taiwan’s Want China Times. This surprising claim was first made in a report by Skyscrapers Magazine earlier this year, which defines a skyscraper as a building taller than 500 feet (152.4 meters).

But compared to the tall buildings I liked this architecture better

Very beautiful, colorful, artistic!! It is Chinese heritage so try not to lose it in the materialistic chase of tallest of tall towers!!

I agree, too many western style buildings. We need to stick to our heritage. Problem is that most of the architects are westerners. They come to China and use it as a playground for experiments. Only way to keep our heritage is for Chinese artitects to build new buildings. Western architects just build western style buildings.

Nice skyscrapers and quite a record too holding so many tall buildings. I rather not focus too much attention on the world's tallest building as almost other countries try to claim that title and it will be taken away by the next one with just a couple of meters higher after few years.
