As the U.S. makes clear it will defend Japan should China try and lay claim to the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, this Chinese announcement from mid-2012 offers additional perspective.

Once the U.S. announced it's turning attention from the Middle East and directing military assets to the Pacific, it didn't take long for China to make clear how it would handle what it saw as a new regional threat.

The Economic Times reported China promptly increased its conventional missile capability to carry out multiple launches, from multiple sites —a tactic that could overwhelm a Navy ship's defenses and cripple its abilities.

Tan Weihong, Commander of China's Second Artillery Force said, "Conventional missiles are a trump card in modern warfare. So we must be ready at any time. We must be able to deliver a quick response to attacks, hit the targets with high accuracy, and destroy them totally. Of the 114 missiles [our brigade] has launched so far, all have accurately hit the target."

If China can send off several missiles at once directed at the same ship, the chances of success on their part may increase exponentially.

Asian Defense: China Already Has A Plan To Sink The US Fleet In Any Upcoming Battles

In other words, it seems that China has a plan in place to 'destroy the might of the entire US Navy'! But have the Chinese factored in US plans of pre-emptive strikes on their assets too? They will naturally ensure that Chinese missiles that pose a threat to their Carrier Strike Groups, are totally neutralized/destroyed in the initial phases of battle itself and never be able to take-off from the launch pads/ships.

So, all this Chinese bluster about destroying the US Navy is just plain clap trap!

China want to attack japan.... They just worried about india and america. So they telling india we are your brother while to america they warning they got plans (as if other countries dont have plan).... Its a empty threat. If u have navy than u got plans.... Whats new in that? America wants japan to provoke china because both japan and america dont want china to move ahead.... Because if china gets strong than it wont be good for usa and japan as than they cant do anything about it.... China thinks from one side of brain.... They playing in hands of american plan.... War will happen.... The only question is how soon....

The moment they try to Attack Japan or any other US ally , Chinese bonds of about one Trillion dollars in US treasuries will vanish into thin air :lol::lol:.

The war or an attack cost them whooping 1 Trillion dollars.

China and USA can't afford confrontation. China business will doom in case of any confrontation, no businessman will like to afford such heavy loss.

Japan is under US protection (for nuke attck) attacking japan will provoke USA..

So enjoy nothing gonna happen soon.. :P

A war with one, not even top of the line, Muslim country costed us over $1 trillion dollars by some estimates. War on Terror with bunch of assymetric groups from Islamic World will cost us ~ $ 4 trillion dollars in the long run.

Conclusion : A war with US will cost China MUCH more than just $ 1 trillion.

Anyways, U.S and China won't go in direction confrontation...We aren't idiots.

Great civilizations and 'big daddy' countries (U.S vs China, West vs Islam, Russia vs NATO etc) don't go to direct war in the 21st century.

US played well here mate, they accepted Chinese investment so that they can arm twist this business man if he goes out of control.

Chinese feels very sorry if they loose a billions going by their approach to money, they cannot take any risk if 1 Trillion dollars are at risk.

stupid indians: china and russia all make contingency plans for a war against the u.s. yindoo and nipponzi's contingency plans for fighting china is to expect u.s. to come to your aid.

that is why even before a single is fired, you guys have already surrendered yourselves entirely to the u.s. and also why you guys play the second fiddle in international politics. the war that china and u.s. prepare for may be hypothetical, but the subservience that u.s. extracts from its yindoo and nipponzi slaves everday is all too real. enjoy your slavery, yindoos!

Even without anything, Chinese won't have fought U.S directly.
