Not the tunnel but just a bridge. The money is not an issue. We have too many potential inside and we want to maximize it for our own sake. It is the reason since we have been offered seriously by the other side (Singapore, Malaysia, etc).

Sumatra is the source of energy and raw material, and we want to secure that resources for our own industry concentration in Java to make you clear about what I mean.

make that whole country. almost 70% of the whole country's landmass covered with Uranium Reserves. not counting west papua as it's confirmed to be the largest Uranium reserve in the world along with Australia

mind you that it needs time to research in Borneo and Sulawesi as those places are "sensitives" due to it's rain forest protection policy. i wouldn't be surprised if research shown that the same Uranium reserves were found in both Borneo and Sulawesi. we are not only living with just Volcanoes (and a Doomsday bringer Super Volcano) but also above Uranium mines.

In this case, you seriously need a tunnel or a bridge..
To release your potential power, you have to have easy transportation and communication.
Investment on huge projects seems spending a lot of money.
But you will soon get return from enhanced economy.
We here in China usually first invest huge money on poor land, building road, bridges and other infrastructure.
And soon the plants and factories will invest and give you return.
If you don`t invest first, no investment on poor land..
