And then USA freezes the assets of Chinese in US? You know lots of Chinese have invested lots of money in US real estate. They cann't move the land to China. That is easy! we can always freeze the money of americain companies' in CHINA,and freeze americain companies wealth only!
i think apple can contribute 50 billion usd in rmb of course!
GE can contribute 50 billions usd as well,
Cisco can contribute 20 billion usd....
micosoft can contribute 10 billions usd,
qualcomm 80 billion usd.....
BTW, Apple doesn't exactly own assets in China, IMHO. They work with partners like FoxConn to manufacture there. I doubt Apple has assets worth 50 billion in China which can be frozen. Or the other companies for that matter. Mostly their even offices will be rented.
Lastly, you know whats the biggest assets of these tech companies? Its IPR and HR. Both are not very amenable to be frozen. They can move good engineers to USA via ICT visa and IPR is way easier to move.
By simple time value of money, a bond with 0% yield is going to be worth less than the money value printed on it. You will have to sell it on discount! You will loose money that way. A God have mercy, if America decides to default on bonds issued to Chinese government.A little nitpicking. What is this 0% rate? Is it the bond coupon rate (interest rate) that is determined at the time of issuing or the actual yield rate reflected in the market? Bond with 0% bond coupon rate can still be sold with discount, which means the market value of the bond is less than its face value. There are many such bonds in the market. It is the yield rate that investors care about, not much with the coupon rate. So, nobody may buy bonds with 0% yield but some will with 0% bond coupon rate (interest rate).
Issue is America will not die alone, it will drag China with it. Why? Because it was China which was bankrolling American economy for past 30 years or so by buying their debt. The death of the american economy is near.
