NEW DELHI: The People's Liberation Army (PLA) has undertaken "construction of some infrastructure, including sentry posts, trenches and helipads" near the face-off site between Indian and Chinese troops at Doklam in the Sikkim-Bhutan-Tibet tri-junction area, said defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday.

"Post disengagement from the face-off in 2017, troops of both sides have re-deployed themselves away from their respective positions at the face-off site. The strength of both sides has been reduced," said the minister, in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.

As was earlier reported by TOI, though Indian troops in June last year had blocked China's attempt to extend the existing motorable road southwards towards the Jampheri Ridge in south Doklam, which led to the 73-day troop face-off before disengagement on August 28, the fallout has been that the PLA has constructed military infrastructure and helipads as well as deployed around 1,600 troops in north Doklam throughout the winter for the first time.

Sitharaman, on her part, said the Indian government "regularly takes up the issues" arising along the 4,057-km line of actual control with China through diplomatic channels and established mechanisms, including border personnel meetings, flag meetings and meetings of the "Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs".

But the Indian security establishment believes that PLA soldiers may return in "greater numbers" to the Doklam area (or the Dolam Plateau) for some more muscle-flexing after the winter is over. Junior defence minister Subhash Bhamre last week had also said that the situation along border with China was "sensitive", with the potential to escalate in the coming months.

India still holds the ground where we were during the stand off. and cowards PLA is doing everything far away in safe zone from the stand off area.

A coward is always a coward. :sarcastic:

.
We just operationalized the airport and airbase there. You ll have a good time bringing in helicopters when we can quickly bring in our jets.

.
Chinese troll brigade has been permanently deployed in PDF as well. Armed to teeth they strike with impunity along with their Pakistani brothers who back them against India unconditionally.

Hold the ground within your own borders?:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:. Open google maps and you can see everything genius.:coffee:

By Indian logic, the one retreating is not a coward while the one occupying is a coward? Amazing Indian logic...now wonder their country is a mess. :sarcastic:

Hey got your 12milUS$ drone back yet?:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
A small helipad is of zero threat.
As long as PLA is unable to complete a road towards Jampheri ridge, PLA will be loser of Doklam standoff.
You should ask Mr. Vinayak Bhat why the hearing on this was cancelled. =). At least now your government is admitting we are still there instead of lying by implying to you modi drones we left. Now you know the meaning of 'disengagement' right? :sarcastic:

Shocking gesture in a bid to appease China

Yup according to India media, we were also not present in Doklam. Self praise is no praise bhai. The reality is Indians are cowards, we kicked some arse, downed a drone, occupied a plateau, and your Modi SupaMaan is licking our toes trying to be friends now.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

What I am seeing is some desperate attempt to prove India 'won' something after this big blunder.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

When are you invading Maldives.....I AM WAITING!!!

then why are you in a panic mode ?

why your military giving justifications?
Facing China is a totally different ball game. Their military and strategic machinery is not unified nor aligned, China works like a single machine. The competency levels are totally different. Look at their reaction in Maldives, Nepal and Lanka. A few years ago, they were so sure Lanka was gonna be their stooge, look who just gave us a 99 year lease? =)

.
any one who has good experience of how military works would know that Mountain warfare is totally different from other forms of warfare, it will take India or the chinese to capture mountain peaks or regain lost peaks, it may take days, weeks, months or they may never even come back, so a helicopter flying from these helipads would eventually crash land into India after getting hit by manpads and vice versa, capturing land will be tough and it will take some guts to sort this issue out......Good day

We had not bragging that is a threat to India only your defense defense ministress Nirmala Sitharaman is sensitive like a girl  and feel the need to mention it . We can construct Helipad, sentry post and trench and we can't build road there? what kind of logic is that:rofl:, you can be sure that whether India likes it or not, militarized Donglang as deference Siliguri corridor is irreversible as how we build our islands in SCS to deter Vietnam and other adversaries.

PLA got badly humiliated and dominated in own territory of Doklam which was always under Chinese control.
They could not even complete road to jampheri.:lol:

Sri Lanka did exactly what we wanted they kept the entire security and naval aspects of hambantota to themselves and gave Chinese merely commercial stake.

Really, your army cross the border unarmed to earn our sympathy and pity as Ghandhi did before 1947 with his none violence movement so by your logic the British had also been humiliated before they left India.

As for Sri Lanka, we learn how India was using the "pity tactic" to earn Sri Lanka's sympathy and begging them not to let our sub dock at their sea port, we will not let India to repeat the same "pity tactic" over again, we decide to dispatch 11 ships in Indian Ocean to deter India's regime change on Maldives and hardening our stand. Now we have install ocean observation station in Maldives to monitor Indian navy's activities but Indian can't do a jack this time but cry.

Make sure you dont leave any road equipments like the last time after seeing IA

Wow, now all of a sudden we control Doklam since before time?:rofl::rofl:. Can you stick to the script? Don't just keep on creating new excuses every time you got whooped. How can we complete it when you retreated as instructed and you sang great Hindi kumbaya holding hands with candlelights.:rofl::rofl:

My question still unanswered, are we or are we not in Doklam, can your MOD/MEA make up their minds? One moment, you tell Indians we retreated and are far away, the next moment, we have a ful fledged base 80 metres away. Wtf man....:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

WHEN ARE YOU INVADING MALDIVES? SOOOOOOO MUCH WARNING ALREADY!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR 12MIL US$ DRONE? RUNAWAY COW WARDS! :china:

ervation station in Maldives to monitor Indian navy's activities but Indian can't do a jack this time but cry.

It's Indian news report, they need a 'victory'. It's common for both sides to trespass and then withdraw on a 'SINO-INDIAN' dispute border. We do it to them, they do it to us, there are mechanisms to deal with this. The difference in Doklam is, this is a Sino-Bhutan dispute. Maldives is a slap to India because they played the protectorate card, we are doing the same now in Maldives. Why do you think these indiots are so quiet now?

Yah, like how your 12 mil US$ drone 'crashed' in Doklam right?:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:. Why don't you try cross over and retrieve it now? :enjoy:

Yup, it's a good thing Indians are not building helipads, while we build 7 huge 25m radius helipads, with trenches, sentry posts, ammunition depots, barracks and high altitude light tanks. Are you planning to use arjunk there?:rofl::rofl::rofl:

With Maldives and Nepal as example, China has send message to India that there is nothing call India's sphere of influence, when our interest is present we will defend its, India will never able to threat a regime change or force other nation into their favor. You will see that China deal with Bhutan with the same matter, we can send troops there claiming to protect Bhutan opposition faction...it's a matter of time Chine will lift Bhutan's curse from India and it shall be free like Nepal.

. .
China does not cease to amaze us as the world's drama queen. These guys could not take on Taiwan and now they think by building helipads miles away they going live down the embarrassment and pure slap down the world community saw India do to them. " Look maa, they beat me out of the neighborhood, but I built a fort with two chairs and sheet in our house as payback"
