China Bets Big On 'Iron Bird' Of The Skies

A concise illustration below on ARJ-21 700 (Model # 105) next trials during the month-long final type-certification process during which the first test flight of a routine route from Chengdu to Guiyang was declared successful on 29 October. More routine route tests to come.

A summary of the targets for assessment:
1. to and back from 10 major airports in China
2. to conduct 100+ sorties to short- medium and long ranged locations
3. to accomplish flight hours of 300+ duing the period
4. max flying of 10 hours in any single flight during the test period
5. to test flying at night and rainy environments
6 auto-piloting and flying with pilots day/night times
6. functional testing of all main and sub systems viz autopiloting, communication, landing gear
radar and satellite navigation etc

ARJ21 is expected to obtain its Airworthiness Certificate from CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China) by the end of this year!

  记者从商飞公司获悉,我国自主研发的第一款喷气式支线客机ARJ21-700飞机日前完成了功能和可靠性试飞既定任务,成功验证了飞机各系统功能的可靠性、对机场的适应性,以及航线运营保障机制的可靠性等。ARJ21飞机适航取证工作将在年内完成,明年投入客户进行航线商业运营。
  这之前,ARJ21-700飞机103架机还顺利完成了最后一个排液试验架次试飞。整个排液试验过程情况良好,试验结果获得局方审查代表认可,这标志着ARJ21-700飞机全机排液试验取得成功。全机排液试验旨在验证一旦飞机的燃油、液压管路或接头出现液体渗漏时,渗漏的可燃液体能迅速排出飞机体外,且不会受气流影响进入飞机的高温区。
  从今年10月29日至11月24日,在23个飞行日里,ARJ21-700飞机105架机以成都双流机场为基地,在成都、贵阳、桂林、海口、福州、舟山、天津、石家庄等国内8个机场、28条航线间开展了模拟航线运行。分别模拟进行长、中、短航线共计140多个架次的飞行,累计达到172小时53分钟。
  据了解,这是ARJ21-700飞机取得型号合格证并交付用户之前,中国民航局最后一项审定试飞活动。试飞期间,105架机进行了包括雨天、夜航等环境适应性试飞,仪表飞行规则和目视飞行规则下的白天和夜间起降,并对空调、自动飞行、通讯、电源、导航、起落架等多个机载系统进行使用循环操作,检查了各系统功能实现情况。
  商飞公司方面透露,将在12月中旬同时完成所有条款的关闭工作,12月下旬取得民航当局颁发的TC证(型号合格证),力争在年底交付首架飞机。据悉,目前还有3架ARJ21飞机正在上海进行总装,已经总装的6架ARJ21飞机,除了4架试验验证机,还有2架准备交付用户的飞机正在进行最后的适航验证工作。
  根据中国民航局适航审定要求,ARJ21-700飞机功能和可靠性试飞需要进行300飞行小时的验证,其中150飞行小时结合其他审定试飞进行,其余150飞行小时需要通过本次专项模拟运行试飞来开展。

Xi'an AVIC Hamilton Sundstrand Aviation Electric Co. today announced that the first set of electric systems has been produced for COMAC's new C919 jetliner, and is scheduled for delivery in November.

"We're excited to share with the industry that the first hardware set of electric power system panels, for use in laboratory testing, has been produced for COMAC's C919 jetliner," said Tim White, president, Electric Systems, UTC Aerospace Systems.

AVIC SAEC is a leading company of aviation electric systems in China. AVIC EM, the parent company of AVIC SAEC, designs and produces a wide range of aerospace systems and products for both the Chinese and international markets.

so will this be competing with the Suhoi Superjet 100

Sorry, Russian jet market is almost dead. With western embargo over Ukraine issue and China state owned airlines will be forced to buy ARJ-21 and C919 plus the needs to compete the remaining share of China market with airbus and boeing. Sukhoi SJ-100 maybe a good plane but lacking a big domestic market will be its fatality.

ARJ21-700 AC105 successfully returned to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport after a day of enroute flight on November 24th, 2014. At this point, established missions of function and reliability flight test of ARJ21-700 aircraft have been basically completed, which successfully verifies the functional reliability of the each system of the aircraft, the adaptability to airport, and the reliability of enroute operation security mechanism.

It is reported that from October 29th to November 24th, 2014, AC105 has taken Chengdu Shuangliu Airport as the base and completed 81 flights in 28 simulated routes among 8 domestic airports in Chengdu, Guiyang, Guilin, Haikou, etc. to simulate operations in long-distance, medium-distance and short-distance routes.

The cumulative flight time was 171 hours and 21 minute; in addition, AC105 has completed one flight for fault simulation flight test of function and reliability at Yanliang, therefore, the cumulative flight time is 172 hours and 53 minutes, which has exceeded the requirement of 150 hours in airworthiness regulations on function and reliability special flight test, and the required cumulative flight time is reached ahead of schedule.

Just looked into the project. The C919 isn´t really a competitor for our A320. Only chinese airlines order it. I doubt COMAC will become an international sucess. It offers nothing that our A320 doesn´t have. The A320 family beats the C919 in almost evry aspect. The C919 has no renomee it can base its product on. It looks like a nice addition for the chinese inland routes for chinese airlines. So far only Ryanair showed some interest in it. But placed no orders.



I needed info first. Aviation is my main fild of interest. The topic only showed some pictures and no specs so far. :)

major factor will be the cost plus china is getting more muscles and can effect foreign countries to buy it just like US pressurized countries to buy theirs

No I dont think so
. Far from Boeing / Airbus as far as political influence is concerned, unfortunately. Otherwise we would have secured the contract of 2 squadrons of fighter-jets with Nigeria right now.

Cost is a major factor though. That includes the cost of the jet plus training and maintennance costs
Also as long as the spare parts are made in China, the buyer wont have to worry much about potential risks of getting an embargo :-)
