China becomes world leader in number of space launches

I saw a Chinese Mars flight in a few years on NASA Spaceflight. I think China will use their own heavy-lift rocket.

Venus in 2015. Mars in 2016. See tentative launch schedule below.

why is china waiting for another launchpad to be made (supposedly capable of launching rockets with 25T to leo ) for the MARS mission. I mean even ISRO is planning a mars mission but we dont have such capabilities.

china is building a bigger rocket, so they need a bigger launch pad. india is also building a much bigger launch pad for mk3 and up coming bigger rockets.

The Hainan space launch facility is located near the equator. As you know, the Earth is an oblate spheroid. It spins fastest at the equator. This means less fuel is required to launch a payload.

Also, the new generation of heavy-lift rockets are almost ready. Both of these developments are necessary to lift sophisticated and heavy Chinese satellites and probes into space.

I don't think it is 100% necessary to have launch pads near equator.. although it may need less fuel if launched from equator but I think a launch pad located somewhat off the equator will be more efficient ? #Just my observation that most launch sites are infact not on equator.. no theories to back it up though.
 
Speaking of Mars, has China sent anything to Mars yet? Anything concrete in the works, maybe?
We tried to send a probe last time on the Russian rocket. The probe was launched into space, but didn't achieve its position or something.
 
chins tried it using a russian rocket, but i think it failed. most launches done by china are communication satllies, 2 navigation satellites and some rs sats.

Yeah like us indians who discovered water on Moon courtesy the chandrayaan mission which was a fraction of your moon mission which discovered ZILCH..

Great Work By China .Instead of Knit-picking and Scoring cookies with some cheap comments we can take Inspiration and be Happy Asian Age is Coming and It is good both for India and China . Hoping something from India too in coming years as we also have developed some decent capabilities in this field .Like Chinese we also beat the Schedule but the other way around :P .

Space should be one place we can sit aside our petty squabbles (I like them as much as anyone). In all the truly great nations, there are those who look beyond, and see a future for humanity. They are of course fools and dreamers, but I can't help feeling they should be encouraged.

Hehe.. well ISROs current mars mission is a virtually insurmountable. However if they do achieve it, they will be the first one :woot:
