It's similar in the ex Soviet republics. Some Pakistanis unfortunately fail to grasp that Muslim communities globally are quite varied in their cultural traits. A variety of influencing factors shape each community uniquely. Some misguided folks believe China clamps down and forces Muslims to abandon their religion blah blah - the reality is that these folks themselves want to drink alcohol. Like I said, similar in the central republics where vodka is like a religion.
