China and India agree to end doklam stand off

You didn understand forget about the road for now. How both sides withdrew when chinese still holding it and patrolling it.

The argument was on Doklam land. Currently it wasnt about road. Indian wanted both Armies to withdraw and go back. BUT BUT chinese still patroling and indian went back with logic that our aim was to stop the construction of road and no where it was mentioned that theywill nt build the raod. Its just an assumption...

Incase you dont know the meaning of withdraw.

You are mistaken here. It was started bec of road but ended up on holding the area. Chinese said they will talk about road only when Indians will withdrew. Indian said they will only withdrew if both will go back to 300meters.

m i right @beijingwalker @wanglaokan @nair

Indian government sources say the challenge during the negotiations over withdrawal was to maintain Chinese “face”, while obtaining an assurance from Beijing that it would halt road building in the area, an activity that India’s military says compromises its defensive positions.

This issue was intelligently finessed with Beijing announcing: “China will continue to exercise its sovereignty and uphold its territorial integrity in accordance with historical conventions.” No mention was made of China’s right to build a road in Doklam.

Regional watchers have speculated whether the disengagement agreement provided for China to establish diplomatic relations with Bhutan, something that India has discouraged under the terms of a treaty between New Delhi and Thimphu. However, well-informed media sources in Thimphu deny any such quid pro quo.

India has never objected to China patrolling the Doklam bowl, which is disputed between China and Bhutan. A Chinese road, however, is regarded as an unacceptable change in the status quo, which is expressly forbidden by a 2012 agreement between Beijing and New Delhi.

Which both sides? Chinese are patrolling and India patrol withdrew? So thats what china was demanding.
And china is withdrawing as well otherwise they wouldn't need to patrol that area.

Can you Patrol on AJK? Yes patrolling does esnure sovereignty of the state. CDI
No we can not but in this case, all three parties can patrol the Dolam plateau from here on now, just like it had been since ages!!That's the difference between the premises.

China on Monday confirmed via on-site checks that India has withdrawn personnel and equipment from Dong Lang (Doklam) after a military stand-off lasting more than two months.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said that Chinese personnel completed the on-site check around 2:30 p.m., adding that China will continue to safeguard its territorial sovereignty according to historical boundary treaties.

The Chinese government values its neighborly friendship with India, Hua said. It expects India to respect historical boundary treaties and basic principles of international law, and to work with China to safeguard peace and stability in the border area on the basis of mutual respect of each other's territorial sovereignty.

On June 18, more than 270 armed Indian troops with two bulldozers crossed the boundary in the Sikkim sector and advanced more than 100 meters into Chinese territory to obstruct routine road construction in the Dong Lang area of Tibet Autonomous Region.

1) Full Indian withdrawal including equipment by 2.30 PM China time
2) Chinese soldiers were present and checking the withdrawal
3) China will continue to exercise sovereignty over Doklam
4) No road were destroyed but only construction obstructed by Indians.
5) Trespass was only 100 meters into Chinese territory.

Please check India MEA statement, no mention of road cessation agreement nor mutual withdrawal by both parties. Only the word 'disengagement' was used to cover up withdrawal.
