MOSCOW (Reuters) - The era when the United States and Russia decided the world’s most important questions is in the past, President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday, saying China and Germany were now heading for superpower status.

Addressing a meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club, Putin suggested that the role of the United States had waned, along with that of Britain and France, while Beijing and Berlin - in terms of political and economic weight -- were heading for superpower status.

If Washington was not prepared to discuss global problems with Moscow, Russia stood ready to have that discussion with other nations, said Putin, who was speaking via video link.


He said Washington could no longer lay claim to exceptionalism and questioned why it would want to.

Ahead of the U.S. presidential election on Nov. 3, Putin said he hoped the new administration would be ready for dialogue on security and nuclear arms control.

Washington last week rejected a Russian proposal for an unconditional one-year extension of the last treaty limiting U.S. and Russian strategic nuclear weapons deployment, calling the suggestion “a non-starter.”


The New START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) accord, signed in 2010 is due to expire in February. It restricts the numbers of strategic nuclear warheads that Russia and the United States can deploy as well as the missiles and bombers that carry them.

Despite their differences, Moscow and Washington appear to be moving closer to a deal on New START.

The Problem with Germany (when it was officially ONE unified country) is, that is "to good" in some aspects to be just a "regional" power. But then, Germans never had the resources the Brits or French had through their colonies. Germany spent more in colonies then it extracted ... lol fail.
Always had to import all the important stuff and then do something out of it.
Sure, it had centuries the best military on earth (but quality will lose at a certain point vs quantity, especially with maniacs in the leading role...)
After WW2 they got castrated, I mean all White countries (Liberalism).

Germany could do much better.

Germany should be like a mix of Switzerland (Direct Democracy - btw I wouldn't have anything vs a much more authoritarian style "Regime" IF it's formed by the best and act pro German), Singapore (Cleanliness and Supervision) and Israel (Mossad, Nuclear Doctrine).

China will be interesting in the future.

I agree with the underlined. Every citizen in a socialist / communist society must contribute towards the welfare of the society. After all even Marx said "From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs" .

You can "gift" some things to your ordinary people IF you have the substance for it.
But gift something to people who don't do anything for it - no.

Firstly, people should not have to unnecessarily struggle for basic needs ( basic food, education, medical needs, public transport etc ).

Secondly, a proper economic system should ensure that there are no rich and no poor i.e. one citizen should not be continuously allowed to grow richer some another citizen is comparably poorer.

Thirdly, to address your point ( your mention of "substance" ), with the development of Virtual work ( via computer ) and 3D Printing, lot of means of production of goods can be done without much effort. This will further enable a communist society.

Towards all this I have tried to propose a new economic system in this thread.

Dude you gotta be kidding me. America might be growing thru some shit but China wont be on par for atleast another decade when it comes to global influence and soft/hard power.

Germany is a cuck nation. I dont expect that to change in this generation as the people have been soo brainwashed regarding the sins of their pass in WW2. Most Germans are still very anti-war/military and Pro-EU meaning giving out handouts to poorer idiotic EU nations such as Greece.

Russia is a dying power. Economically and militarily. God knows whats going to happen to it once Putin is gone but one thing is for sure- at the rate at which Islam is growing in Russia and the native population is declining Russia should be muslim majority between 2050-2060. Influence wise Russia can only bully weaker nations such as Georgia, or Syria.

Japan has great potential to actually be more influential than both in the next century. Things are aligned pretty well for them. Strong economy, growing military, and now they are starting to project their hard/soft power more and more esp in Asia. Id def rank Japan at number 3 after U.S, and China.
