BHUBHNESHWAR: The 'China versus India' debate continues to rankle the government at all levels was evident with PM Manmohan Singh noting that "India's relative position in the world of science had been declining and we have been overtaken by countries like China." He was speaking at the 99th Indian National Science Congress at Bhubhneshwar on Tuesday.

Depends if you are using troll calendar or human calendar. In troll calendar China is still behind!

Honestly I don't know or remember. Indian boasts BS like 40% NASA scientists are Indian or something, yet they can't make a simple cryogenic engine that works without destroying the rockets. Yeah, one thing I haven't seen very much is Indian NASA scientists. However, East Asians do make a huge percentage of NASA staff.

Alright my Chinese friends, here's what you all are waiting to hear from us:

China is ahead of India in almost everything and still growing rapidly but India is also trying to catch up and putting efforts in improving infrastructure, manufacturing, scientific research and education.

India looks upto to China for comparison in many technological advances and this is a healthy thing. Both sides should appreciate it and encourage each other.

No, really.. You can come visit it... It's called Johnson Space Center.. I have even been in the building and I never saw a Indian worker...

I have even been in the control room and watched the NASA control room security recording on the NASA TV channel.

40% from a single foreign country in a govt. controlled org is incorrect,the 4% figure is more like it.

BTW, he might be true if he said those words 30 years ago. However, saying the exact words now is as ridiculous as a Chinese official saying "China is overtaken by U.S. recently".
