Chabahar port developed by India mustn’t be viewed as a counter to Gwadar: Advisor to Iran Foreign M

Lolz you are talking about 1940's . gcc wont let Pakistan go at the iranian side at any cost :) .

Those movements were there because of the great game , still the holy places of Indian and Arab nation have to be liberated.

. .
iranian are signalling indians that there is no chance of chabahar to be used against Pakistan . ( as far as i get it )

Strange assumption.

Ports are for trade, how can a Port be ' used against' another nation ? The port in question is an entry/ exit point to Af & central India. Are you assuming that the port can / could be used for military purposes ? That is impossible , for such eventualities other options exist.

Rebuffing perceptions that the Chabahar Port jointly developed by India and Iran, is being viewed as a counter to Gwadar Port, developed by China in Pakistan, Advisor to Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Sheikholeslam on Tuesday said the port is for everyone and would benefit every other country including Pakistan.

“The relations between India and Iran are not against everyone, they are for everyone. Chabahar will no doubt help Afghanistan, Central Asia, Iran and India and we do not mind at Pakistan and China using Chabahar, it is better that they use it. We are encouraging them to use for the benefit of Balochistan and Pakistan,” Sheikholeslam told ANI.

When asked about India and Iran’s role in Afghanistan, Sheikholeslam said, “Afghan’s future and security should be determined by them. We, India and others, should help them. Some countries try to use Afghanistan in their internal politics. This would harm them. America came and it did not help them. We should assist them.”

Talking about the growing significance of India-Iran relations Sheikholeslam said, “In the Iran nuclear crisis we had with America, India stood behind us and in issues like in Afghanistan, we have tried to help India. We have tried to bring energy to this country, of course you pay for it, but we want to reliable provider to India. Security of energy is much more important than any other aspects. We tried to be good buyer and seller. I think these relations will develop more and more.”

@RescueRanger @Max @Sinopakfriend @Talwar e Pakistan @somebozo

Does Pakistan have any need/urge to use Chabahar port? I don't think so. What benefit we will get by using Chabahar port when we have already Gwadar and direct connectivity with CARs ?

What else you can say in Diplomacy? CHina also says that CPEC is not aimed against India. This is called diplomacy.

Chabahar opens up a humongous opportunity for trade between India and East Europe / Central Asia. India invested in this because Pakistan refused to share benefits from opening the land route for India and Afghanistan. Chahbahar will bypass Pakistan forever. It will also not be a very good thing for Pak Afghan relations which is deteriorating. Once supplies from India is ensured to Afghanistan, Pakistan will lose its utility for them.
Apart from this Pakistan has been accusing India of using Afghanistan and Chahbahar for destabilizing Pakistan. Thats not true but intelligence related activities are never official.

Not only will we never allow india access across Pakistan

Chabahar for india will be a flop as it will for Afghanistan going the long way round through Taliban territory where their major population centers are near Pakistan border.

Its why chabahar has stalled somewhat

With Chahbahar in operation your utility as transit for India will be over. We are not looking at commercial gains from Chahbahar and Afghanistan. Commercial viability for Chahbahar is from East Europe and other Central Asian nations. India has already subsidised air link from Afghanistan. For Afghanistan India will be an alternative to Pakistan so that their dependence on Pak can be reduced.

Ever heard about Naval port or naval base ? Soon CHINA will get a Naval Base at Gawadar .
.
indians think they will counter it by asking iran for a naval base in chabahar but iran shows red light for that .

Iran will never allow India a naval base anywhere near its territory. India is firmly in bed with the USA and this relationship is going to become a problem for both India and Iran in the future. Israel wants a war with Iran. Which side will India come down on if that happens? India will never be able to stay neutral in that situation.

Actually Pakistan is having border dispute with both Republic of India and Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Founding members of Republic of India and Afghanistan were against the partition.

The root cause of this extraversion lays in the Pakistani feeling of vulnerability that crystallised vis-à-vis India as early as 1947 - a sentiment that was reinforced by the then hostile attitude of Afghanistan. Subjected to encirclement, Pakistan looked immediately for external support.

In the 1940s, Kabul had asked the British to let “their” Pasthun tribes to decide whether they wanted to accede to Afghanistan or to become independent. Pakistan was not even an option. After the creation of Pakistan, Afghanistan refused to recognise the Durand Line as an international border.

Diplomatically, the Pakistano-Chinese rapprochement found expression in the way Karachi spared Peking at the UN during the Korean War.

when China attacked India in 1962. Not only did this war reconfirm that Peking and Islamabad had a common enemy, but afterwards both countries, in December 1962, swapped some territory in Kashmir - something India resented a lot.

As early as 1967, China committed itself to deliver one hundred tanks and 80 MIGs to Pakistan. In 1982, Chinese weapons systems made up 75% of Pakistans tanks and 65% of its air force. In 2005 China provided Pakistan with four naval frigates, and today, China and Pakistan are jointly producing the J-17 Thunder fighter. In the same vein, China helped Pakistan to develop its nuclear bomb.

By the mid-1980s, Pakistan had acquired sensitive technologies to build it bomb from China. During the folowing decade, Beijing helped Islamabad to build a 40 MW reactor which could be used to provide plutonium for its weapons program

Russian Federation is already there inside Iran and this is even one more reason that Indian Establishment is moving out of Chahbahar port.
